An AU where Sydney is a doctor, Carmen is completely smitten, and two hyper-fixated perfectionists realize they run on the exact same wavelength. Basically a retelling of The Bear with Sydney being a doctor.

Summary
So I know this sounds fake but I don’t really care. I found this spell in an old book I checked out while I was in Andorra. It was of course in Catalan but I translated it. I said the words aloud and thought of who I’d wanna use it on and suddenly when I get back home my best friend is all over me. I don’t know how exactly it happened but it’s what I wanted so I’m fine with it. Don’t bother with the ethics, that’s not why I posted this. I just wanted to share the translation so here it is:
Think of love. Think of a love so great it cannot be broken. Picture a face. They are tied to you, now and forevermore. Devoted in a way you have never known. May nothing but the truth and pain of heartbreak sever it.

There is just one problem, you don’t divorce one of the heads of the Italian mafia, unless you want to lose that head. So Sydney came up with a foolproof plan, run away. Except it not so foolproof when her dismissive and estranged husband decides he will burn down the world to get her back. Now they are stuck in a dark and seductive cat and mouse game. Only Sydney’s not sure if she is the mouse or cat.
