Summary
Senju Tobirama didn't die in that fight, he just arrived scuffed up in the future through some genuinely astounding mix-up in time and space as he went to evade by hiraishin.
The first person to find him is a little Uzumaki boy with the kyuubi so very obviously lurking inside. The child offers his home (what kind of home is this? He will need to talk to the boy's parents) to wash up and borrow some clean clothes.
Iruka arrives just on time to become irreversably tangled up in the mess that is the Nidaime discovering what has happened with the village since his reported death. It's all so far above his head he might as well live in a well, everything start to move around him and he would much rather not be dragged into the political shitstorm starting up. He had just wanted to make sure Naruto ate something and took a bath once in a while!

Summary
The night of the Kyuubi attack, it's chakra was split in two. One half was placed into Naruto, the other into Iruka. Asked to protect and raise Naruto by Minato and Kushina, Iruka does everything in his power to do just that, even if it means sacrificing his own happiness and freedom along the way.
This follows Iruka's path through the years and how his decisions and choices shape and alter the future to come.

Summary
In a last ditch effort to clean the slate, to erase the apocalypse and downfall of humanity, the last two humans on earth give up even that to go back to the past and prevent the end before Madara can get the ball rolling. Now between scheming to create a better future, lying about their identities, and coping with the knowledge neither really falls neatly into the definition of human anymore, they also have to come to grips with their feelings for one another while finding their place in the past.
Or:
Naruto and Shikamara give up what made them human in the first place to go back in time and gaslight the village into believing they're their own uncles while attempting to make a peaceful future and live normal, or normal adjacent, lives.
