Distantly, she knows it should be normal, because it’s normal for the rest of her friends. She knocks out on Luke’s lap, huddles around Sean’s laptop whenever they produce together, and even hugs Milly when Zoey pisses her off a little too much. She doesn’t feel… excited, during any of that, like she guesses she does with Jake.

Summary
Mark Borja was a simple man once. He used to go to school like a normal teenager, he liked hanging out with his friends, and the most he worried about back then was his grades. Mind you, his scores were horrible so it’s worth agonizing over. But still, those things compared to that trash heap of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff he just experienced? He’d take getting a D at math over that every single day of the week.
He had hope. He thought that it would be like a game of sorts, and the resets were just… save points, maybe. If he gets good at piano quicker, if he builds a stronger relationship with all his friends and Nicole, if he just… becomes a better person than before, he’ll eventually get his happy ending. Really, after all this time, still so naive, he had it coming. A happy ending? For folks like him? Wrong city, wrong people. It’s Liamson, for pete’s sake.
Ha, he’s amazing at this. A Doctor Who reference and a Cyberpunk 2077 Reference, back-to-back. If Cathy’s here, she definitely would have given him a high five. See? His bangs aren’t the only redeeming qualities he has, even if they’re right up there.

(Spoilers for the main story of Slime Rancher 1+Slight Slime Rancher 2 spoilers)
To put it bluntly, Beatrix was sad. Rainbow Island was amazing, don’t get it wrong, but she was lonely. She only had Pink and Cotton slimes in corals at the moment, as she had only set foot there a few days ago. Her slime plushie she brought with her from her old ranch could only do so much to replicate a real hug, and a rainy night further solidified the lack of others there. There wasn’t even a range exchange, just the large communicator for video calls. Her other ranch was homey after years of being there, with the way she decorated it, the drones doing the bulk of the work, etc. But here, at the conservatory, it was new. She had barely had any time to even decorate her new house, only her bed and the kitchen having any substance to them. As the rain pitter-pattered against the roof of the conservatory, Beatrix just lay in her bed, squeezing her slime plush trying to pretend it was someone.
