The bed dipped under the weight of someone sitting on it and Clark could barely move because he knew that voice. He knew Batman, he knew Bruce Wayne, and neither was particularly close to him. Quite the opposite.
But maybe it was all a mistake. He knew that people tended to engrave the inner ring with a wedding date, a name or a message, and he frantically removed his ring, ignoring the distressed sound Bruce made beside him.
Inside the ring was engraved the tiniest bat and a date referring to, Clark supposed, the wedding.
