“Tim? Can I come in?” Martin, Tim notes, his heart not slowing like he expects. Then— “I’ve brought you some tea, if you want it.”
He does want it. Christ, does Tim want nothing more than to curl up in his own bed in his own flat with the mug Danny had gotten him from somewhere in South America filled with something warm. But he’s not at home. He’s at the Institute. And Martin’s tea has always been a little too sweet for his taste and he wants it more than he’s ever wanted anything because it’s the closest he can get to something that reminds him of his brother.
Tim blinks, and in the corner of the darkness, a clown stands hunched and staring at him, blood dripping from its eyes and landing in a puddle on the floor.

Summary
Gwen drifted off somewhere around the midway point of the journey, and Alice only barely managed to catch her before she slumped over into the lap of the man beside them. As she pulled Gwen against her by the waist, her heavy eyes drifted open briefly, glancing up at Alice from where her head had lolled against her shoulder.
She expected Gwen to bite out some half-embarrassed, sarcastic remark before pulling back into herself, fortifying her walls.
Alice swallowed back surprise at the soft, vulnerable expression she saw as Gwen settled into her, practically nuzzling her cheek into the collar of Alice’s coat.
She’s sick and exhausted and half asleep, that’s all. She reminded herself, and buried the disappointment as deep as her own denial.

Set in season 1, around episodes 18-19. Gwen gets a fever at work, and really, what choice does Alice have but to look after her?
