She knew he had snapped, mostly because a moment later she was choking. She had never been choked with the Force before, and so when it happened it took her a few seconds to recognize it.
Control, she realized. That’s what this punishment was about. In his eyes, she was his apprentice. She had agreed to let him teach her after all, and this was what was expected for defying him. How many times had he been on the receiving end of this strangulation?
Well, she was not going to be like him in this regard.
She summoned the Force and directed all her power towards the thing that was making her squirm and gasp. She harnessed the energy from within herself, drew all her focus and then-
She broke his hand.
He roared in pain, clutching the appendage that had been holding her. She instantly fell to her knees, gasping and drawing sweet air into her lungs. He yelled in fury, cradling his mess of a hand and she glared up at him, her eyes burning and her chin wet with saliva.
“That will be the last time you do that to me,” she rasped, and then ended the connection.

Since Supreme Leader announced his marriage four years ago, Lady Ren graced Supremacy with personal visits exactly four times – for the annual Day of Order celebrations, when a parade was received in the docking bay and speeches were made. Each time, formation pushed Hora’s unit to the walls of the cavernous space. They could only barely discern Lady Ren’s dove-grey robes, her statuesque frame so petite against Supreme Leader’s black form. She stood out in the sea of red and black and white of guards, officers, soldiers. And it wasn’t just the clothes; it was the energy Lady Ren emanated. Even from afar, it felt as if she was glowing. As if her small body reverberated with the force contained inside.

"Rey Skywalker?" There's a vaguely sardonic twist to the corner of his mouth. "Does that make you my cousin now?"
"It seemed like a fitting tribute," she says in wooden tones. Be it dream or vision, she might as well play along— draw this out until reality comes crashing back. Who knows when he'll come to her again as solid and as vibrant as this?
"I see." Suddenly he's leaning into her, their faces so close together. "Tell me," he murmurs, his lips almost brushing against hers, "have you ever heard of the term kissing cousins?"
She registers the smell of alcohol on his breath at the same time that his eyes flutter shut and he slumps face-down into her lap, snoring softly. You're alive, is all she can think at first, staring down at his head of lush black hair.
Ben Solo is alive.
Alive and very, very drunk.
