Scott thinks back to when the whole chase started. The chill that ran up his spine when the explosion ran through the arena, the beep of his intercom signalling that Impulse, one of the last three greens, had fallen. The shadow that fell over Jimmy’s face when they made eye contact. Thirty seconds to run. To leave. Because apparently Jimmy would rather have Scott’s blood on his hands than Tango.
Jimmy. Oh, Jimmy.
“Scott?”
Time’s up.
Scott turns around slowly, limbs stiffening and gills flicking. Because unfortunately for Scott, he knows that voice all too well.

He better not have gotten distracted, or just slipped away, or—

Summary
Nagi isn’t a stranger to curious questions about his relationship.
He’s gotten used to it, of course, but it doesn’t make it any less of a hassle than it has. Some people are confused and baffled about the concept of four people dating at once. Others are curious about how the relationship works, how’d they even meet and get together in the first place. He usually lets either Isagi or Bachira take the wheel on those types of questions — after all, like many of his peers have said, he’s a man of a few words.
It’s the questions that target Nagi specifically, that want his input and his input only are the questions that he really can’t worm out of.
Strangely, they’re mostly about his relationship with Rin.

Vox finally stood, joints cracking in protest. Annoying. Stupid human body. “Look. All I know is we woke up like this. On Earth. Together. With all our memories and none of our powers. So, congratulations, deer boy, you’re stuck with me.”
Alastor pinched the bridge of his nose, inhaling sharply through his teeth. “Let me get this straight. I have been forcibly deposited into a mortal vessel, next to you, with no warning, no explanation, and no immediate means of escape?”
“That’s the gist,” Vox said.
Alastor stared at him.
Then laughed.
Or Alastor and Vox find themselves trapped in Purgatory with human bodies.
