Summary
The world? Still ended. You? Still too pretty for your own good!
Just a little earlier and a little AU from the first story. Second person fem perspective. The protagonist is level headed and reasonable, with a few minor secrets like her rape kink. When society collapses, that can be an asset to survival, and make things a little more fun. There will be more violence in this story compared to the last, but cannon typical and not for gore factor. No sexual violence or injury, but a little struggling, and a little slapping. Early seasons, planned for 2-6ish, so possible story necessary spoilers. These are mostly the side stories considered for the first, and little nitty gritty background details/ideas.
TW- Non-con obvs, Use of the R word, crude dialogue and threats, zombies exist but no detailed graphic violence or gore. No sex related violence or injury, this is bittersweet feel good fantasy stuff. Each chapter has its own TW in the beginning.

“I’m not hungry! I want to be with Mom!” Carl shouted, trying to run after them, but Daryl had to put an arm around his chest when he struggled out of his grip.
“Carl, we can’t go that way. Hey, stop! Kid.” Daryl pulled him to the side and crouched down trying to look at him, but Carl looked away and continued to struggle, Daryl glanced up at the looks they were getting. Daryl gripped his arms to keep him from running. “Carl, look at me. Look at me,” Daryl repeated and after a moment, Carl glared at him.
“What?”
“I’ll be honest, kid; your mom is in pain and scared.” Carl’s glare faded as his eyes went wide. “Bein’ pregnant and bleedin’ in uh… just bleeding ain’t good. She doesn’t want you seein’ her like that or worryin’ ‘bout you. It’s better we stay out here. She knows yer good with me, so her energy can be focused on being strong for your sister. Do you understand?”Series

Daryl, Rick, and a small group take off to Georgia. They drown in memories as they retrace their footsteps. The trip back allows Rick and Daryl to figure out what they mean to one another, what they've always meant to one another.

Summary
Rick is first on the scene when a call comes in about an overdose in the Terminus Trailer park where Merle Dixon is found dead. The officer instantly forms a bond with the deceased's grieving brother, Daryl. He can relate to Daryl since Rick just lost his ‘brother’, Shane. Both men are left without a constant that they’d always had in their lives and they develop a friendship as they continue to grieve their losses and to be thankful for what they are finding in their new worlds.
