Hamilton had always felt different from everyone around him. His body felt wrong and sickening. He felt like he was going insane knowing what he wanted without having the words to describe it — hell he couldn’t even put the feeling together in his head where no one else would hear him. Nobody seemed to understand that blossoming joy he felt when told his hair made him look feminine.
That empty pit in him would be there till the day he died and never have the chance to grow into something else.
It wasn't until Hamilton discovered a term— transgender— his world was shaken up.
Even then, he still grappled with the thought of it. He always knew he was different— but that type of different? That left such an indescribable bundle of emotions and contradictions in Hamiltons gut, leaving him nauseous.
Hamilton meets both allies and enemies. Some build and support him, while some knock him down all over again. With every foe he faces, he meets three more friendly faces.

Hamilton lowers the quill, looks at Washington, some uncharacteristic heaviness in his eyes. "Apologies, Your Excellency."
Washington studies the boy, sleep deprived mind denying him some thought he can't quite reach. He sinks back into the mattress and closes his eyes.
A moment and he opens them, sits up, the name on his lips before anything else, "Hamilton-"
He's already gone.
