What she doesn't know, is that a certain Cullen knows of her transition, and won't stop until he's found her and reunited with the Cullens who were lost without her.
Set during New Moon with canon divergence and slight AU, but all of our fave characters will make appearances throughout.

A slow burn where Thane and Shepard have a unique connection over a secret she has kept hidden from everyone in her life.
This is the first of three, they will go through an interpretation the events of Mass Effect 2 & 3 (more faithful to canon, timeline wise, especially, in 2, with some bigger changes in 3 (Thane lives).

This is a (some could say partially, others could say fully) darker interpretation of the canon romance, though it does stick to canon, many scenes are expanded upon (a few are rewritten either because they don't seem right in canon, or I needed to find a way to fit them) and new ones are made to fully make this story. Characterization of Thane on the other hand, that's ambiguous if you want to consider it canon compliant. Personally I do.

Summary
Human bodies were weird and typically didn't work the way anyone anticipated, especially the female body. In Buffy's case, her body has been dead and decaying underground for months, of course it was going to be a little late to being alive again.
Thankfully, or unthankfully in Buffy's case, Spike is here to help with all bodily (menstrual) functions, no matter how late or forgotten they were. And really, who is Buffy to complain (complain that Spike, the big bad vampire with the nose more powerful than any dog can SMELL her, like all of her, all the little bloody bits and know the state of her underwear at all times, so yes she really does have every right to complain)?

Ever since that moment the two remained friends and even got an apartment together in the Lower City shortly after defeating the Netherbrain.
It’s been several months since; and Effy is still happily living with her vampire bestie, but Astarion’s been acting different lately…

You stay quiet and wipe the sweat off your brow and upper lip. There was a stream nearby… but the thought of being alone out here at night terrified you. Sleeping out in the open with another vampire mere feet away was bad enough.
