Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

Summary
It was as regular of night in Seoul as any other.
Cars were blaring their horns, the blinding lights of the building advertisements consistently blocking the stars in the sky, street-sellers shouting while trying to attract new customers, and the current most popular girl group in the country was chasing the current most popular boy group in the country on top of rooftops with deadly weapons.
(Where Jinu sees Rumi's hair down for the first time and suddenly he doesn't know how to properly function anymore)

He was spotless.
Save for his patterns.
“Is he okay? He’s not hurt, right?” Rumi’s voice cracked at the seams. She bent down and brushed away a stray hair from his face. Underneath his eyelids, his eyes didn’t move.
Stilled.
“We need to take him home, now.”
Zoey blinked, “What? No! He needs a doctor, medical attention! He nearly—“
“Doctors are going to be more concerned with the fact that he has burns all over his body.” Rumi protested. “We… we don’t know how he’s going to be if he wakes up.”
“But—“
“Alright! Alright! We take Jinu back and put him under heavy surveillance. The only thing I’m seeing aside from the burned patterns is some scratches and bruising. There’s nothing fatal.” Mira rationalized, clearly siding with Rumi.
Zoey huffed, but inevitably gave in. Her curiosity nipped at her heels. Her fingers attempted to touch the swollen marks, and Rumi swatted her away.
“We shouldn’t touch them, he’s already in God knows how much pain already.”---
He saved them— saved Rumi. But at what cost? Unconscious, his demonic essence quite literally burned from his soul, Jinu has to adjust to his new markings and the necessities of mortality.
