On the good days, they always train together, and fuck in the shower afterwards. For some reason, Marc loves fucking in the shower, or simply letting the steamy water wash over him while Andrea uses his hand or his mouth to reward him for the effort. On the good days, everything’s easier, they cook lunch and dinner together and Marc puts on that horrendous reggaeton he likes – they dance to the beat, and sometimes they burn their food, or get very close to it, because they’re too busy being silly to actually mind their pans and pots.
But those are just the good days. And the good days are rare, rarer than the okay-ish days at least. Today might be okay-ish, if Marc is in the kitchen. Downright bad if he isn’t.
Rubbing a tired hand over his face, Andrea gets out of the fragrant covers and puts on some mismatched sweatpants and a soft, worn out hoodie. His dad has taught him that it’s always better to be prepared.Since Marc's arm injury has worsened, Andrea feels trapped in a nightmare.

It’s just a trick Álex has learnt after Marc caught that post-surgery infection.
The bad one. The one no one saw coming.
Weeks spent replaying it in his head, wondering if he should have known.
And no, it didn’t matter how many times the doctors told him it wasn’t possible, that some people don’t feel the fever until it’s so high it triggers convulsions.
Álex kept telling himself that he, at least, should have noticed, suspected something or whatever.
He was the one who spent every single day before and after Marc’s discharge glued to him; he should have picked up on the changes shaking his brother’s body.
He should’ve seen it coming.
Anyway.or Álex coping with Marc's injury in his own way.

The wish for it all back thunks in his chest, sits there after every win and victory and moment of hollow nothing. Sometimes he even wishes he could go back in time and do it again, hell even further back. Race against shorn-haired Valentino, with his fire and his youth and the future stretching out before him. A dangerous wish.
