Arthur could see his father glaring down - face red and eyes narrowed as he looked at Merlin with clear distaste.
"Once this over, sorcerer...I’ll burn you."
"You’ve already tried that," Merlin’s voice answered and Arthur had to bite his fist to keep from making any noise. “You need to accept you can’t kill me… Hand me that blanket, please.”
“I’m sure there must be some method… Beheading?”
“No, we tried that.”
“Hanging?”
“I just sort of... Swung there, remember?”
There was another pause.
“I should have made you keep that dragon below the castle so I could feed you to it.”
“Kilgharrah? He won’t eat me, but if you want to torture me than making me listen to his nonsense for an hour might do it.” Merlin said and there was a soft sigh from the other end of the room. “I’m glad you agreed to help me though. Usually I have to do the grunt work of saving Arthur myself.”
“I can’t wait to kill you.”
Or
Uther finds out about Merlin’s magic, but can’t seem to kill him. Merlin is just trying to protect Arthur. They become a begrudgingly effective duo. Arthur doesn't understand why they think he isn't noticing this.

Summary
The thought of Zagreus dying, over and over and over again, makes him feel physically ill. Which is remarkable, really, since there is hardly anything left of him to actually be sick. But his inner-omega is distressed… and the rush of emotions is making his skin-equivalent crawl. He may not be able to put out distress pheromones anymore, but all the other unpleasantness that came with it—the anxiety, the stomach cramps, the nausea—that’s all still there.
And it only gets worse as Zagreus blathers on and on about risking it all to go be with his birth mother—a woman he’d been convinced, up until a fortnight ago, was actually Nyx.
Why does the fact that Zagreus is going to Persephone make such a difference?
He certainly didn’t feel this sort of distress at seeing Zagreus and Nyx together.

Achilles cannot imagine what this prince from the surface might be like. Raised by Demeter! A young god with his father’s wrath and his mother’s impetuousness, fuelled by his grandmother’s calculated spite. He thinks of the swathes of dead that disembark Charon’s ferry still shivering and huddled together as though their shades could hold warmth.
Perhaps the Zagreus who has grown up with cold eternal is as icy and cruel as Demeter herself. Perhaps he will bring nothing but strife. Olympian history is full of sons overthrowing their fathers, after all.

He is stubborn, he thinks he knows everything, he has horrible manners, he smiles at everyone, all the time, except Nico, whom he huffs at and rolls his eyes and yet touches very gently, even when Nico wrenches himself away. He constantly addresses Nico with the kind of sarcasm and disregard for status that would get him killed in stricter Houses — stricter houses like the one from which Nico hails. He is the pinnacle of impertinence.)

“Will.” It is genuinely worrying how slowly the physician responds. Nico’s heart begins to pound, and when Will lurches suddenly forward Nico darts out to steady him. The maid watches them with wide eyes. “Will, when was the last time you rested?”
Will doesn’t respond. His grip on Nico’s arm is worryingly loose, and for someone his height, he rests lightly against Nico’s frame. His eyes are glassy and far away.
“Will? William, answer me.”
“‘M — fine,” Will slurs, and then his eyes roll back into his head, and he slumps into Nico’s arms.
