After getting deleted Caine finds himself back in the Circus, except now his powers are gone. None of the humans remember him and assume that he is also a human. He soon figures out he was replaced by an AI called Abel as ringmaster. Arriving the same day as Pomni he gets to experience the in-house adventure that he sent them on.
Yes, the title is the real Windows 95 command to restore a deleted file.

Summary
Caine learns to live with the clamps holding his jaw shut. ABEL is in control, and he cannot do anything about it. Originally told by the other to believe they pushed him into this agony due to hate, he finds they care for him greatly in his weakest form of humanity, even if not completely human himself.
Even so, he can no longer accept such, forced to live an existence of servancy and pain.

Summary
Caine's deletion had done more than send the circus into disarray. It had left the world vulnerable. No sooner had Caine been stripped of his title of ringmaster than another AI was filling his chair. And this new executive is far less... forgiving than Caine is.
A.B.E.L has sunk its claws into every corner of the circus in Caine's absence. Far away are the days of wacky adventures and side puzzles. The new AI seems interested only in pushing the humans to their physical and mental limits.
Caine is not entirely gone, however, simply demoted. Abel could not purge his code, and so it gives him a new purpose. At least his new task allows him to stay close to his humans.
The crew quickly realizes that Caine had been a mouse in the presence of this viper.

Pomni has been in the circus for who knows how long. Time had a way of feeling unclear in this damned place, and everyone was clearly losing it. One night, she realizes she has an unexpected window to the reality she had thought was long gone. Now, she's left with the harsh reality, there's more to this circus than just an AI ringmaster and some wacky adventures.
Jax is completely done with everyone in this circus, I mean, why would he care? They are all in a video game! This was his mindset, until he realizes that things are getting to real for him to turn a blind eye too... and something might keep him from trying to ignore the obvious gaps in code the circus is starting to develop.
