Summary
Light shines through the wintry branches, shadowy arms stretching across the ancient ruins. What was left stood in spite of itself, defying time in its precarious way. Yet, this place was kept secret by the trees, whispering terrible truths into the ears of any who came close. Beneath the chorus of birds the voices of old can be heard, the clash of metal on metal and the crackle of magic in the air. In this pale light, were it not for the tell tale signs of weathering, the surroundings could have resembled almost any century in the past three thousand years since the war.
Although they believe she has abandoned them, some still pray for her safe return as a saviour to all. Others scheme for another to rise, craving the blood of his kin to be made flesh once more. Holy Valentina, creator of the Immortal realm, leaves behind her only living child, Norah, to discover a world she has never experienced.
