Not that it really truly is home—not that any place could be or has been home in years. In what feels like it must be a lifetime, must be so long that Wilbur and the world have been irrevocably changed, that they both must be wholly unrecognizable. Or, at least, Wilbur must be.
He thinks he must be because the voice is horribly, painfully familiar. It’s familiar—it carves him open and turns him inside out as he grips a little plastic container of those cheerio snacks so tightly his fingers have gone white. His eyes meet those of the Gerber Baby and he feels its judgment as he tries not to be sick. Home rings out across the little store and Wilbur closes his eyes and does not look at the round mirror he’s sure the man would be visible in. Wilbur’s home is about four aisles over talking to a bored cashier, but Wilbur set that home on fire, Wilbur burned it to the ground years ago.
The cheerio snacks go back on the shelf and Wilbur ducks his head as he rushes out of the store.

If all he could think about was how he could get the gold back to his nest and far away from the people who wanted it, no one was gonna be happy.

Possible Soulmate Downtown
Was going home from work on friday, and I think I met my soulmate somewhere on the p-train, cause I’ve been seeing in colour since then, which has been wild as fuck, turns out apples are all different, it’s way easier to tell them apart now that I can see that. Anyways I was looking at my phone, so I didn’t realize until I was getting off, lmao. And then there was the sunset, stared at that for a while. Honestly had kinda figured I didn’t have a soulmate cause it’s been a while so this has been a surprise, lol.Rail was late (cause of course it fucking was) so it was a train somewhere between 6:30 and 7:10 I think, on the prime line, and I travelled from pandora to community, so I guess we were on the train together in that time? If you are also seeing in colour since then, let me know, I guess?
Edit: It was fucking 36 degrees with humidity on friday, yeah I had my sleeves pushed up. So did everybody else on the train, it was a FUCKING HEAT WAVE.

Tommy's insides curl unpleasantly.
"Ah," Tommy goes, careful to sound politely interested, not prying, not surprised, not overly curious. Just as if Ranboo had told him a fact about dinosaurs or the mechanics of a car- like magic is some distant thing that Tommy will only ever know the surface of. "That's cool."

or: newly crowned after the death of his parents, child king Wilbur Soot thinks he's hiring a royal advisor and a captain of the guard. In reality, his council has contracted Phil Watson and Technoblade as assassins on the grounds that the entire kingdom is unhappy with Wilbur's rule. Throughout it all, Tommy wastes away in his room, some sort of mystery illness chipping away at his health.
Wilbur and Tommy are none the wiser, and Techno and Phil have to make a decision.

He could tell at first glance what they were.
Unlike Tommy they never made any attempt to hide it. They practically dripped with godly power, any ordinary mortal could tell they weren’t fully human. It was almost painful to see them flaunt what he spent so much time hiding.
He should hate them. They killed his kind. They’d kill him if they found out what he was.
Instead Tommy let them worm their way into his heart with only mild resistance.
To them, he wasn’t a Titan, killer of gods and mortals alike. A beast so dangerous, hunting them to extinction was a mercy. Instead he was the powerless demigod they looked after.
Any embarrassment he felt playing a helpless demigod faded when Phil would try his best to cook mortal food for him (if he really was mortal, he would have died of food poisoning years ago).

That was just what he needed, wasn't it. He twisted his head off the ground as the fuzz left his sight and saw a temple constructed of basalt and netherrack, with red nylium snaking up the walls in warped formations.
There was a solid gold altar at one end of the room.
Fucking figured those villagers were cultists.

Maybe he was expecting to be dragged back to exile, cursing and screaming the whole way. Mostly, he was just hoping that Techno wouldn't be home. Tommy had a half-baked plan to hide out in the piglin’s basement, squirreling away gapples and supplies until he could figure out something better.
He hadn’t even considered that Techno could be hibernating.
Or: Tommy has just escaped exile. What better place to hide than the house of his hibernating older brother?

Tommy was a tired God who's sick of sleeping all the time. He goes down to the mortal world and discovers heroes, vigilantes, and villains. He gets dragged into it forcefully by his new friends - who also dragged him forcefully into their lives - and, honestly? He doesn't regret a thing. Being a vigilante is fun! Even if he has to hide the fact that he's a God from them. And then he has to hide the fact that he's a vigilante from the heroes who he now works for and have taken an interest in him. Should be easy, right? Well...
He should be able to do at least one of those things!
