Summary
Techno’s heart lurched when he found him. He’d known Phil had had a bad time on this last mission, that was why he’d come after him in the first place-- Phil not reporting in was kind of a bad sign– but he’d looked for him in the med bay first, not in the far reaches of the Antarctic Stronghold. Some of the hallways Techno had come down to get here had been so dusty he could still see mob tracks, undisturbed since the original settlement.
Philza’s bright yellow hair was growing in a different color at the roots, paler blond like sunlight over an open sea. When he finally looked up at Techno, his eyes were shifting too, acquiring a brighter shade of blue, the structure of his face subtly altered.

“Do you think you could actually light it?”… And that… that hadn’t been what Phil was expecting to be asked. Snapping his head up to look at his space heater of a friend, Technos' gaze was still on the fire. “It’s never been done Phil…. Are you sure you won't…” Techno trailed off, shifting in his spot and pulling Phils hand closer. He was right. ‘The Portal of End’ had never been lit, at least in their lifetime, and no one knew what was on the other side.

Tommy couldn’t remember how long he’d been stuck in this cage.
It was made of golden metal, solid as a rock at the bottom before twisting into thick bars made to look like tree branches on the rounded sides. The bars met smoothly at the top, all of the fake branches intertwining together.
He couldn’t remember how long it had been since he’d seen real tree branches either.
His wings itched at even the mere thought of anything outside his cage. The trees, the clouds, the sky, all of it. They fluttered uselessly within their bindings, as if Tommy had any ability to fly away from his prison.

Or, Tommy is an avian with golden wings, who is passed from owner to owner as a display piece. He is locked in a cage and is isolated, never allowed to speak to anyone.
That is, until Antarctic Emperors Philza and Technoblade are accidentally given Tommy as a gift.

Summary
People spoke more freely around him because he was young, he was small and he often just… blended into the background if he stood still enough. That meant he heard all kinds of talk from servants, guards and even nobles!
He knew that Jerry the guard always cheated at dice and that Ava the maid only cleaned parts of the castle that were visible, letting dust and dirt cake in the corners until a more diligent servant cleaned it up.
The nobles were harder to get information from, though. The ones that spoke freely and loudly rarely had anything worthwhile for him to listen to. The real gossip came from the quiet ones… the ones that always looked over their shoulders or scanned a room before sharing anything that could be cool or interesting.
Luckily for Tommy though, they weren’t quiet or paranoid enough this time and he heard the coolest of news. The emperor of the north was coming to visit their kingdom to discuss trade routes!
That in and of itself wasn't interesting but the emperor certainly was!

Techno took the moment to breathe deeply. Cold air burnt his throat and lungs. A bow twang and thud sounded from behind him, and Techno whipped around in time to see a red soldier hit the ground. Phil swooped past, already reloading his bow, and Techno exhaled in relief.
“That’s twice now!” Phil shouted, his voice filled with mirth.
“I’ve only got so many eyes, Phil!” Techno shouted back. Phil laughed as he flew off to help one of their battalions, and Techno turned to continue trekking forward.or, someone dared to attack the Antarctic Empire, resulting in a brutal fight. Technoblade makes it out completely unscathed. Well, almost.

Summary
Techno always thought that he would die in the fighting arena, that he would keep on killing person after person until the day he was finally outclassed. But then Phil entered his life, the winged man showing him that there was so much more than what lay within the walls of his cell and that sandy arena.
Together they escaped, and now Techno and Phil begin settling into their new lives as co-rulers of the Antarctic Empire.
Some days are a struggle, especially after the absolute hell they both recently escaped from. As long as they have each other though, even the worst days aren't all that bad, not when nights turn into mornings spent wrapped up snugly in the warm embrace of the person who means the absolute world to them.

He’s already got a split temple and judging by the blood dripping from the rogue’s face, Phil was willing to go down fighting.

Technoblade, after so long of being the "Blood God" and "God of War," had long since grown tired of bearing the titles, and had been longing for a chance of redemption, to rebuild his life. On the right track, this time.
Seeking an escape, he had been able to apply to a high school, and had eagerly waited until he'd gotten his letter.
Accepted, it had read.
He hadn't believed it at first, but he had never gotten the chance to go to high school, and instead had learnt about war and justice and sword fighting and punishments.
So, with research, he set out an outfit for the next day, filled a backpack with all the stuff that the website had said that he'd need—textbooks, notebooks, encyclopedias, writing utensils, and for his specific elective, criminology and criminal justice books; he knew he'd be good at that already, punishment—and gotten in bed for the night.

TL;DR: Technoblade applies to high school in hopes to rebuild his life, the right way, and is eager to go the next day. To make friends, friends that could treat him the way that his family never could, and perhaps enemies that keep him close.
