Summary
The aftermath of the Idol Awards leaves Rumi exhausted, but her sorrow over losing Jinu is short-lived when she discovers not all of him is gone.
Rumi has many heart-to-hearts with her friends, gets her demon not-yet-boyfriend back, and starts discovering all the new powers she has due to being half demon and half hunter. But she’s not the only one changing.
Mira and Zoey get used to the new normal with a new Honmoon and what it all means for them as hunters, as well as the new face among them. Jinu seeks to redeem himself in their eyes but the weight of guilt due to his actions is not an easy hurdle to jump.
Their well deserved rest will not last forever. Between the demons stuck on this side of the Honmoon and those trapped on the other, including those Jinu cares about, they must decide what course of action they want to take and deal with whatever consequences it brings.
Gwi-Ma might’ve been banished to the other side of the new Honmoon but he is not one to go down quietly.
(Or in the aftermath of Gwi-Ma’s defeat, Rumi discovers that Jinu’s soul, albeit weak, is still sticking around. She keeps what remains of him safe, causing a ripple effect that will change things for the better.)

Summary
Growing up, Mu Qing developed an almost irrational fear of jiangshi. He would listen for the sound of the Taoist priest bell that never came, certain corpses were being moved through the city at night. The windchimes of his elderly neighbor used to send shivers up his spine, keeping him awake.
As he got older and the stories seemed more fantastical, he went from being afraid to consuming zombie media whenever he could get his hands on it. Even now, though fear was certainly swirling in his stomach, it was colored by a strange fascination.
Perhaps that was why he couldn’t stop himself from watching the undead outside their window, standing in the courtyard, stiff as statues, staring at nothing.

“What’s in your pocket.” It wasn’t phrased like a question.
“Nothing!” Feng Xin began edging away from the front door, flattening his arms against the two lumps so Mu Qing couldn’t prod them as he passed.
“You better not have started shoplifting!” Mu Qing called after him. Feng Xin waved him off and disappeared into his bedroom – which was his favourite place to hide things, Mu Qing knew. It was also a very stupid place to hide things, because it was Mu Qing’s bedroom too, and Mu Qing always found everything Feng Xin hid.
In the end, curiosity won out and Mu Qing followed Feng Xin to the bedroom.
Feng Xin was kneeling by a not-at-all-obvious pile of blankets, whispering to it.
“Feng Xin.”
Feng Xin jumped.
“What’s under the blankets?” Mu Qing continued. Feng Xin blanched.
“Drugs,” he said.
There was a rustle under the blankets, and then a sound suspiciously like ‘quack’.
“Did the drugs just quack at me?”

OR: the last thing mu qing expected was his husband to return from work with two ducks tucked under his arms because they were huddled at the side of the road looking “sad”....
