Clark was impossibly withdrawn in the morning.
Jimmy tried to get him around. Even got ready to go with him on a jog at a hour far too early to be reasonable. Anything to get the hollow look out of his eyes just for a moment.
According to Flamebird everything had been okay overnight. All accidents had been either prevented or rescued. Everyone had been saved. It wasn’t always the case, and Clark had always gotten withdrawn on those rare occasions; he always took them hard, painfully so, when Jimmy could only passively wish he could “tell Superman” whatever comforting thing he could think of when Clark was in the room.
Quiet support.
And it would eventually work. Because Lois didn’t need to know the whole story to understand depression and she knew how to pull him out of it the same way Clark and Jimmy knew how to pull her out of it.Bookmarked by Cosmo127

If anyone was having a bad day. If a girl was worried about a boy bothering her. If a kid just needed a lunch without comments about what they were eating and where it had come from. If someone had come out and there had been too much cruelty sent towards them. If someone just needed quiet or to feel safe for a while. They all went to Clark, not too close, not close enough that he would notice they were using him as a shield, not so close that he’d put down the book and flash them a friendly, anxious smile. They’d walk just behind him in the hallway or settle a few seats away with a book or a video at lunch.

She somehow gave him an even scarier look. She’d wanted him to lay down somewhere comfortable the second she’d seen him, but he had thrown her his best kicked puppy look and she’d given in instantly.
“Okay.” Clark wobbled his way over to the sink and set the dishes in it. He glanced at the soap, “I could—”

Jimmy should be used to it by now. He really should be used to it by now. He had a roommate who sleep-floated and broke doors on a regular basis. Not to mention the exploding alarm clocks and snapped faucets if Jimmy startled him.
Quiet, calm voices were a must when rooming with Superman.
But Clark didn’t look up from his staring contest with the desk. His eyes were flickering between a weird glowing teal that erased his irises and turned his pupils off white, their normal sky-blue shade, and bright burning red, as a bead of sweat trickled down his temple. There was a pot of water with a thermometer in front of him and he was perfectly still. Jimmy wasn’t sure if he was even breathing or had forgotten that particular detail of playing human.Jimmy's perspective of his friendship with Clark Kent.

“We’re going to cuddle the hell out of you,” Lois says easily.

"Crap!" the food truck worker shrieks in alarm. "Don't hurt him, Superman, he's just a kid!"
Clark . . . pauses, then looks up from the kid that he is currently pinning into the street as said kid struggles underneath him.
"'Hurt him'?" he asks in reflexive confusion, and then realizes how batting a teenager around like a person-shaped cat toy and pinning him to the street hard enough to crack it probably actually looks to an outside observer.
. . . um.
Whoops.
"Um," he starts awkwardly, and then the kid slips his pin while he's distracted and throws his arms around his neck with a gleeful laugh and a bright grin.
"Dad!" he crows triumphantly, and hugs Clark harder than literally anyone has ever hugged him before.

Kon’s eyes almost glow in the dark, a luminescent blue so vivid Tim almost can’t stand looking at them, though he has a harder time trying to look away from them.
“I thought you were having a nightmare or something. Your heart was beating so hard it woke me up.”
Tim feels himself a flush. He can’t even sleep without bothering someone else.
“Oh,” He replies, voice small. “Sorry. I’m fine, you can go back to sleep.”
“You’re shaking,” Kon points out and Tim curses internally.

Dick turns eighteen with the Titans, so Bruce's legal guardianship expires while they're on bad terms and opposite sides of the continent. On a totally unrelated note, minimum drinking age in the U.S. is unreasonably high and four out of five Titans don't recommend father figures.
