Summary
The elder wolf approaches Eddie’s face, giving an approving nod to Drysdale before locking eyes with the man on the bed below him. His strong hand cups the fledgling hound’s jaw, tilting his face upward to ensure he can’t avert his gaze.
“Do you know why I stopped you, pet?” His voice rumbles in questioning disapproval, blue eyes turning amber.
Eddie shudders, spit and pre dripping from his mouth as he pants. His lips struggle to form the words, but his mind knows what to say. “No…”
Washford hums, the disapproving sound rumbling in his throat like a growl. His grip on Eddie’s jaw tightens.
OR Washford helps Eddie learn to take his lovers' attention better.

Summary
The morning of the festival, you invite Susie to the diner for lunch. She shows up earlier than you expected, given her proclivity for being late, with bags under her eyes and her hair in disarray. She looks like she slept about as well as you did. You make a joke about her not having a hairbrush - since her ax got upgraded to an electric toothbrush. Your face doesn’t move to match.
“Heh,” she says, with no mirth behind it, only laughing out of obligation - or perhaps just acknowledging the effort it must have taken you to make a joke. She doesn’t say anything else. You can see the weight she’s carrying. The weight of two worlds. The weight you can’t take from her.

Summary
She showed up at Kris’s door with her hood up and her tail twitching, smelling like smoke that wasn’t hers. She had one of her mother’s old flannels tied around her waist, the sleeves long and dragging. Kris didn’t ask. Just stepped aside.
Toriel, from the kitchen, poked her head out and said only: “Shoes off, dear. I just mopped.”
Like Susie belonged there.
Like she wasn’t a guest anymore.
Kris gave her the couch and curled up on Chariel. Susie protested, at first—“It’s your damn house, dude,” she said, “I can sleep on the floor, I’ve done it before”—but Kris was already half-buried in blankets and completely silent, which meant the conversation was over.
At some point, when the house had gone completely quiet and the shadows settled, Susie whispered:
“Hey.”
Kris shifted their head to look at her.
The moonlight caught her hair, the jagged edge of her teeth. Her eyes were clearer than they ever were at school. No posturing. No sneer. Just Susie. Bare and real in a borrowed T-shirt, her knees pulled up, her voice a rasp.

Summary
At the dawn of time, Nezha’s hands fluttered through a constellation. There was salt on his fingers, rust in his eyes.
His vision blurred as he looked at the horizon. The sea swelled around him, burned red and gold, night retreating reluctantly like blood from a treasured sword.
The world came back to him in bits and pieces, and he waited, futile, for three things that would never return.
Summer.
The shore.
Ao Bing.

“Hark! All Celestial Ministries, lend your ears!”
A flurry of activity echoes around the Heavenly Court.
“The Marshal of the Central Altar—slayer of chaos, vanquisher of ten thousand demons—kneels before the Jade Throne! The three realms are pacified, the broken kingdoms are unified!”
“You have done well. What will you have as your prize, Vanguard General?”
Li Nezha raised his head. A little white dragon coiled around his wrist chirps cheerfully, uncaring of the solemn nature of this ceremony.
“The Huagai Star Official.”
Then, as if unsure if he made himself clear, the war god stands, gaze steely. “I meant to say, his hand in marriage.”

Summary
The distant look in the Mage’s eyes snapped to the gap of the roof, to the near-silent tuttering of other, watchful machines down below. “No, it doesn’t matter. You will be safe up here. It should be simple enough, to lay protective wards into the earth of the tower. I won’t let anything happen to you,” he vowed.
Promises held no impetus in this world, where nothing happened, nothing changed.
The Machine reset its position on its knees and replaced its hands on the weapon of a fallen era. I can’t stop you from making useless promises, can I?
Somehow, without doing anything, the Machine had gained a visitor and protector.

Days after, as he spends his time in his laboratory, doing nothing but staring at meaningless notes, at worn-down books, at his partner's face as it rests in its Arcane cocoon--his mind begins to splinter, breaking at the seams.

"Who the hell are you?" Jon could feel his hands shaking.
The man laughed, taking a step forward and raising a hand to point at him.
"I'm you, from the future!" he said, then swayed, eyes going unfocused, and collapsed to the floor in a dead faint.

ON SEMI-HIATUS UNTIL I FIGURE OUT THE PLOT MORE, REWRITE IMMINENT
There's nothing familiar about the world outside the walls of Sylvain. It cannot be seen - the Quell's thick fog consumes it all: ruined cities, feral Sylphs, ancient unspeakable terrors, forgotten libraries full of dusty knowledge. In isolation, Sylvain's last survivors huddle behind the walls of their city as the storm closes in.
Until, four months after the Ashminder is killed, they realize that there's one last option.
Something is falling from the Sylvan sky, far and fast. Something built of teeth and stone is stirring in the bowels of the planet. There's a glowing necklace inside a double-locked safe somewhere in Kepler. And on Earth, our three heroes find that their planets and pasts hold more secrets than any of them could have believed.

Summary
Hollis - ˈhä -lis: Transferred use of the English surname meaning "dweller at the holly trees." It is derived from the Old English holegn (holly tree).
Holly- ˈhä-lē, noun: any of a genus (Ilex of the family Aquifoliaceae, the holly family) of trees and shrubs,
especially either of two (I. opaca of the eastern U.S. and I. aquifolium of Eurasia) with spiny-margined evergreen leaves and usually red berries often used for Christmas decorations. In Victorian flower language, holly flowers mean defense and protection, and, less commonly, hope.---
Hollis has many, many questions about the woods they grew up in. They just want to know what's out there; they always have. They see teeth gleaming in the shadows; sometimes, late at night, they hear mournful howls on the wind, or the cries of dying beasts. Kepler is dangerous. The forest is dangerous. (And sometimes they think they can hear it speaking to them. But that's ridiculous. Isn't it?)
Hollis doesn't know how, or why, and there's only so many questions they can ask. But they're willing to give almost anything to find out the answers.

Summary
“Let me see if I’ve got it straight,” said Shadow. “So Abraham leaves, nine thousand dollars the richer, and in the parking lot by the train station he and Barrington meet up. They split the money, get into Barrington’s Model A Ford, and head for the next town. I guess in the trunk of that car they must have a box filled with hundred-dollar violins.”
“I personally made it a point of honor never to pay more than five dollars for any of them,” said Wednesday.
- Neil Gaiman, American GodsIf there's anything Boyd can do well, it's play a fiddle and charm the pants off of anyone he meets. Ned wishes he could say the same about himself. In a diner in Atlanta, Georgia, the two partners in crime do their best to pull a fiddle grift, and it doesn't quite go the way either of them expect.
Takes place six years before the events of The Moth who Came In from the Cold, though can be read as a standalone.
