"And Louis responds by kissing him. He closes his eyes and presses their lips together and hopes it’s enough to distract from how those words cut and extracted critical pieces of his heart, his soul. Louis kisses Harry to avoid sobbing, yelling, pleading, begging him to never, ever use words like always or never or I promise, because they can’t. They don’t have an always. Nevers will forever remain a mere dream. Time has run out for commitments or oaths or pledges and if Louis is going to be okay- if he’s going to enjoy this time with Harry and then let him go and still feel whole- he can’t let himself start thinking long term. He can’t let this become emotional; something more than silliness and fun and sex.
He can’t hear Harry say he’s proud of him when he doesn’t know if he’ll ever see him again after this week.

Summary
It wasn’t enough for him to give in to an impulsive decision, a forgivable slip he could recover from somehow, maybe by passing it off as a joke or backing out before it was too late. No, when Harry fucked up, he did it properly, making sure there was no chance of saving himself. Impulsive decisions were for amateurs, Harry nurtured the tiny, spontaneous seed of his fuck-ups until it blossomed into a lush and fruit-laden plant, then protected it by building an impenetrable fortress around it, safe from any enemy, but most of all from common sense and self-preservation.
Harry was fucked, and he’d done it all with his own hands.

Written for the BLFF 2024. Prompt 393: An arranged marriage Larry AU in a modern setting. Marriage of convenience of sorts, but Harry slowly starts to fall in love with Louis a little while after their wedding and boom, Louis gets into an accident and forgets everything. He has to relearn life and forgets about the marriage of convenience part and actually falls for Harry this time. Please have a tiny bit of angst, more fluff, and hella smut.

Forty-five minutes later found Nick dancing and singing along to the awful hold music that played as he still waited in queue to speak to someone as he made himself some avocado toast. Luckily, in the time he’d had waiting for a human to speak to, he’d been able to scrape together two work outfits that would hopefully be enough to tide him over until he got his own luggage back.
“Someone needs to fucking answer the phone!” Nick sang loudly and off key to the jazz music playing out of his phone’s speaker. “I want my own shampoo back,” he continued as he swung his head around and twirled with the avocado back to the fridge. “I don’t like Fifi’s bodywash and her moisturizer makes me break out!”
Staring to full on shimmy back to his perfectly made toast, the call disconnected and left the kitchen ringing in the silence.
“Bollocks,” Nick sighed.
