Bailian Minling made a bet with gods long ago, if she could hide someone for any amount of time and not have them know for another amount of time, then her children would be safe. One should never made a bet with gods, but then again, challenge is something they all can't ignore in some form or another. Though Bailian has remembered what she has done, it does not mean that she herself forgot what things have happened.
Wei Wuxian had made choices, some good, some bad, though perhaps if he could give the Wen remnants a better life, he could. Bailian just happened to provide a happy solution to both. -

Anakin startled when he saw the small figure crumpled up against the dashboard. It seemed as though he was thrown out of his seat, blood dripping slowly from underneath his red helmet.
