The Corinthian stretched languidly, "You flatter me. Can I get up? This floor isn't the most comfortable."
Morpheus' hand clamped down on his shoulder, grip forcing him to stay down, "Do you know what I find so interesting about your daydreams?"
"Enlighten me."
"You claim to hate me, yet each one is yet another attempt to get my attention, to convince yourself that you don't want what you truly long for. I know what you lust after, Corinthian, and it's not you controlling me..." Dream made a slow, predatory circle around his nightmare, trailing cold fingertips over tan skin, "It's quite the opposite."
"You know nothing." The Corinthian snarled, snapping at Dream's fingers with all three sets of teeth, like a rabid animal.
"Don't I?" Morpheus crooned, "I made you. I know all my dream creatures, but I know you especially, Corinthian. You fascinate me."
"This is an awful lot of talk for someone who claims to know more about me than myself." The Corinthian snapped, "Do something with all your knowledge, oh wise one."

Crowley settles down for a nap in the park as he always does - snakes love their sunlight. He's definitely not expecting two young people to completely disregard his miracle to keep himself hidden, befriend him, and then keep coming to visit him. Sometimes with a huge black cat, and sometimes even with their uncle.
He's also not expecting a deep conversation with the King of Nightmares about names, identities, and being more than people want you to be.

Summary
What if Snape had agreed to become the Head of Slytherin House, not because Dumbledore wanted him to, but because he wanted to save Slytherin? What if he used his cunning to reform the house right under Dumbledore's nose?
He could save some of the Slytherins from the mistakes he made. He could find the ones who wanted to walk away and help them. And if he created in them a house loyalty deeper than their loyalty to Voldemort, the ones who wouldn’t walk away might be able to save each other in the end. The first step was to keep them from becoming willing slaves while here at Hogwarts.
Severus knew from his own years here that Slytherins were happiest when they were plotting. The problem was that Hogwarts wasn’t structured to give them drama, so they had had to create it. If he could keep them busy with other things, they might learn how to focus their energy. The House Cup had long since lost its allure as it was biased, so he would have to create other challenges for them. After all these bitter years, he had nothing kind left in him, but in the end, the choice was easy. He did it for her. Because it was something she would want him to do if she still lived.

When M tells James to take a vacation and make something for himself to go home to other than alcohol and sex, 007 is not enthused. The closest thing he had to a home was Skyfall Lodge, and even he had to admit that it was incredibly old and needed updating for it to be livable and safe. When Trevelyan steps in to say that he knows a bloke who can rig up security systems, however - and is discreet besides - James decides to accept some professional help.
But despite being an MI6 assassin-spy who's seen just about everything, James isn't prepared for the distrustful, aloof boffin who turns up on his doorstep, full of exactly the sort of thing agents couldn't get enough of: secrets and surprises. Q isn't a mission, though, so it will be up to James to figure out how to deal with (and maybe, just maybe, get close to) this posh young man without hurting him worse than he already is.
