Atop the roof of Dawn Winery, the view was beautiful. Gazing down at the scenery down below, Kaeya Alberich smiled fondly at his home. This was where everything had started. In this very place, a warm, happy life had been gifted to him.
Mondstadt was his true home. This was where he belonged. His happiness was here. But he didn't deserve any of it. Kaeya had lived a life under lies, the heavy burden of an ancient plot running through his veins and resting on his shoulders. It was time to free himself from all of it.
Maybe, in another life, things would be different. Kaeya chuckled softly, letting the wind blow against his face. Only one way to find out. There was no time to be scared, so, into the night he went.

Stan didn’t know what he expected. Just a larger version of the kid he had known in high school, really. Sure they were identical, but Stan hadn’t been the person who looked like his brother in a long time. New scars, constant stubble, greasy mullet, dirty clothes, couple new teeth…He wasn’t exactly his best self. Ford seemed to be doing just fine, last he heard, what with his fancy house up in the Pacific Northwest wilderness, so he had assumed that he would be more…stable.
He noted his shaking hands, the relentless pacing he had picked up, back and forth through the room like a caged animal. He took in the unshaved face, the sunken eyes with dark shadows so deep they may as well be bruises. He looked pale and skinny, like he hadn’t been eating enough. Still, Ford stared ahead, hands clutching a book he had picked up during his rambles, eyes flicking back and forth like he was reading the blank air.
What was this guy so afraid of way out here?
In which there's slightly more communication when Stan first comes to Gravity Falls, and it makes all the difference.

007n7 laid there in despair as the final call went to voicemail. He stared at his phone, the screen unbearably bright, yet he kept staring. He looked at his pitifully small list of contacts, one number that he saved standing out. Why he even had this number saved was beyond him, he was still afraid to even call it, even now when he was desperate.
…To hell with it.
It rang, not even reaching three rings before someone answered with a click. “Hello, this is Builder Brothers Pizza. How may I help?”
007n7 didn‘t say anything.
“…Hello? Is anyone there?”
He sighed and smiled, smiling for once in a long time. “…Sorry. Wrong number.”
“Huh? Wait—” The phone clicked as he hung up. 007n7 let the cellphone slip from his hands, dropping to the floor as he sighed once again. He was tired, tired of everything.
This was enough. If anything, he was glad he could talk to him one last time, albeit barely.
007n7 is depressed and Elliot discovers him too late.
