It had been a fine week, not great, but things had been worse. I mean, besides Akito being exhausted all the time. The ginger hadn’t been sleeping much the past few weeks and refused to take any breaks. His friends noticed how exhausted he looked, but every time they tried to bring it up, he’d avoid the topic in every way possible. Akito didn’t like being seen as weak, and being tired in his head meant he was weak. So he practiced and worked harder than anyone else; he thought himself talentless.
It takes Akito overworking himself again to truly understand how many people truly care about him.

"How do you know that you love someone?"
Rui is silent for a moment, before he laughs, and that was enough to make Tsukasa regret everything. His shoulders stiffened, and he stopped breathing for a moment. But he waited. "I... Am not the most interesting person to ask such thing, but..."

“As certain as the tranquility to come with rain,” Tsukasa replied, and paused for only a split second before reaching his hand outwards towards the taller man.
A sharp exhale escaped between Rui’s lips, willing the shake in his body away as he grasped the other’s hand in his own. His script fluttered gently to the ground, landing a few inches away from where they stood. The two gazed into each other’s eyes, dandelion yellow melting with soft shades of orange and pink, and the next breath he attempted to allow passage seemed to catch in his own throat. Tsukasa looked almost dazed; his gaze clouded with an emotion that Rui couldn’t even attempt to describe. For a moment they simply breathed in tandem with each other, both hesitating to break the stupor they had carefully crafted around themselves, before Tsukasa, gentle as the morning sun, pulled Rui ever so closer.

Tsukasa always thought that “It’s okay” was a vulnerable phrase. He says it to his sister when she was hospitalized and growing distant from her friends. He says it to his own companions when they have problems far too overwhelming for them to comprehend. And he even says it to his audience to see the smiles on their faces, all to reassure them, tell them that it’s fine and that whatever they’re struggling with will all be over soon.
But when the roles switch, it feels all too foreign. He didn’t know how to respond properly, it’s almost as if all his senses just…shut down. He’s the responsible one, he’s always been the responsible one. He always took care of other people, helping them, being the one that they can depend on. To him, it felt like he had to unlearn everything he knew just to hear those words come out of a mouth that isn’t his.
He starts to get emotional whenever he hears that phrase. He wonders why.
