'Make me, mudblood.' he whispered. With the last bit of sense she had left, Hermione placed both her hands on his muscular chest and gave him the strongest shove she could muster. He didn't move an inch. Instead, he swiftly locked both her wrists in an iron vice in one hand, and grasped her neck in the other, shoving her hard against the marble. Hermione let out a squeal of shock. He lowered his face only inches away from hers.
'Don't think for a second that you have any control over me, mudblood.' He whispered icily. She knew she should have been afraid, should have screamed, called for help, anything. But she wasn't. She was the most turned on she had ever been in her life, and Draco could tell.

He pulled out a scroll and started to read, “After long thought, Emperor Belos has decided to arrange a marriage between the human and the Golden guard. In exchange for her hand in marriage, she would be granted pardon from imprisonment and the owl house would be pardoned from their crimes.”

This is essentially the prequel fic to AVO, telling the story of how Draco and Hermione got together at Hogwarts, how they kept their relationship a secret, and what they went through in the lead up to, during, and immediately after the war. I really wanted to compile all of the flashbacks from AVO into their own story so you could read it all the way through in order for a different experience than you get in AVO.
The story begins during 4th year and continues through the end of Draco's trial after the war.
You can read this either if you have or have not read the original AVO, it will make sense either way, and the backstory built in this fic will remain consistent for all other works in the AVO universe, including alternate timeline fics that will pick up where this story ends.
Enjoy these two idiots falling in love!
PS: Unfortunately, I still don't own these characters, they are owned by a woman who has really proven over and over again that she doesn't deserve to be spoken of in modern society. But, you know, it rhymes with Noanne K. Scowling.
