Wind gets an arrow through his calf in the middle of a heated battle. In a moment of desperation, he downs a potion and gets himself directly back into the fight. This, he doesn’t realize until after the battle is over, heals the arrow inside of him.

It had taken time, but he too had slowly adjusted to his new state, figuring things out through trial and error. He had even learned to value some aspects of his new life, like his ability to ignore the laws of physical world. He had also learned a lot by reading over Link’s shoulder as he dove into research about mirror portals and dark worlds. Yet he had never fully made peace with his inability to interact with the one person who mattered most. The inability to touch or be heard, or even the simple act of having Link look at him rather than through him was a curse of the cruelest kind, perhaps a punishment from the Goddesses for the wickedness he’d wrought upon their land.
It certainly felt like it now, as he watched Link bleeding out beneath him.

Amazing, wonderful, out of this world. I already had hopes what with this fic being inspired by one I also loved, and this has more than lived up to everything I wanted. The characters are written so well, and the angsty bits are balanced perfectly with the funny parts. I can't say how many times I've reread this and discovered details that I missed the previous time that build up my understanding of the story. It's become something of a highlight of my week to catch up on the new update and think about what might come next :3

He was borrowing it. He was borrowing the Sword of Legend, and… what, checking in to see if it was needed? Waiting for a hero to come for it?
It wasn’t sure what to think. It wasn’t supposed to think about its wielders. But it found itself looking forward to the stories, keeping an eye out while the boy slept, memorizing as much of the information he gave it as it could.
Its job was to protect the innocent, after all.
Or: Hyrule finds a sword. The sword has opinions about this.

I don't know if I can put into words how much I love this. Reread it twice in the last day, so you can tell I'm obsessed. I wasn't sure if I wanted to bookmark something when I couldn't fully express my love for it, but I guess these words will have to suffice.
It's about learning how to live, and love happening along the way. It's about family and whispering jokes to each other and hurting so much but clinging on and breaking past it. It's about healing.

Jason laughed. It was a wet thing, loud among the empty rooftop. “Well, it’s good you’re not him, right?”
An odd look, something Jason couldn’t name, crossed Goldie’s face for a moment. Then, that hand ran across his shoulders, pulling him into a side hug, as the other rounded up to ruffle his hair.

Weeks, months, hell, a year pass since Dick Grayson's disappearance, and Jason begins to wonder, sitting on that rooftop next a mute, bronze-clad mercenary, and a greasy bag full of Batburger fries, if he'll ever come home.Renegade is stuck living what can only be described to be his worst life, but at least he can check in on his little brother from time to time, even if it breaks his heart that he can't be the big brother Jason seeks.
