Don’t rise and shine!” - except then Arthur drops, immediately, off his feet and out of the sunshine, rolling under his bed - oh dear, how long has it been since Merlin’s cleaned under there, shit - “Do what you want!” Merlin says, panicking.

His father is back at the palace on the brink of death, and so is Merlin, and gods above he just can’t be bothered to care about propriety anymore.
Not when it could save his life.
Not when he allows himself to think back to all those cold nights on patrol, the hunting trips, the quests; how they’d rolled out their mats beside each other and Arthur had woken up several times close enough to Merlin to share his breath, and his heart ached with want for something that close, that intimate, something with Merlin.
How poetic that the very thing that threatens to take that away from him is what gives it to him as well."

The lanky, dark haired man had felt right in his arms, had fit there perfectly. He'd been unable to stop himself from nuzzling the long neck pressed to his face, even covered in marsh-muck as it was. That was after just two days. How much more might he have been tempted to do had Merlin been gone for months?'

Summary
After Thomas' suicide attempt, we didn't get to see much of what he did, or what happened, that helped him to eventually feel better. It's unlikely he got any professional therapy, but it seems to me that something had to happen that helped him to change. This is my take on what happened--the work he did with himself, and the interactions he had with the people who care about him--that helped him to eventually decide to go on living, and in particular in this story, how he got back to work.
I'll add more character and relationship tags as I go.
