Summary
When Arthur Pendragon, Crowned Prince of Camelot, manages to piss off his father again, it's the last straw. To teach him a lesson, Uther sends his son to the American Midwest to enroll in a standard university and see what life would really be like without his money, fame, and power. And Arthur is determined to prove that he can survive on his own.
Afraid that he may still be recognized in this far-off place, Arthur decides to attend University in disguise-- he will hide his face in bulky black glasses. No one will be the wiser.
The consequence, however, is he is no longer getting special treatment. And certainly not from fellow student Merlin, after their disastrous drunken run-in. The more time that passes makes Arthur more and more interested. Can he ever win him over? And if he does, will the reveal of his identity be too much to handle?

This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::
