    Summary

    "Tyler," DJ whispered, "you're on."

"What? Oh. Yeah." He swallowed. His gaze flicked to the ceiling and stayed there for a moment before he squeezed his eyelids shut. Was he thinking of a certain cheerful blonde, like Beth was when she saw him twitch? "Sierra Noel Brooks," Tyler began, hovering over each word, "My name is Tyler Horatio Thompson, and I want to marry you."

A few muffled giggles sprang up around the crowd, and from Chris where he stood near DJ. Tyler spared them a glance of anxiety clashing with terror, and everyone shut their mouths. His fingers shook. His arms shook. His entire body shook.

He didn't look like he wanted to be here at all.

Tyler Thompson always was a gullible one, and he believes in a lot of things, like books turning into vampires under your pillow and outlets feeling sad. But one thing he's NEVER believed is that he makes mistakes, especially when it comes to his wedding day.

    Summary

I stood by the hall's entrance, braced myself against the arch, and took a moment to marvel at the way Courtney's peacock skirts flashed in the glow of the turtle tank. You know… she really was lovely. Sure, she had her unorthodox methods of venting rage, but deep inside she only meant well, really. Maybe one day I could find myself attracted to more than just the smattering of freckles across her nose, eh?

Then I turned and slammed my forehead against the nearest tank. A crab slammed its claw back and scuttled away between the rocks. "Stoopid freak," I muttered, but soft enough that my words didn't carry above the music. My palm slid down the glass. Sure, and then what- Courtney would fall in love with me too? Somehow, I didn't think she'd say yes if I ever knelt at her feet with a wedding ring. Well, yes to me, anyway. She'd probably keep the diamond.

The story where Courtney takes feral Zeke to prom... Wait, what?

    Summary

She swept her gaze up and down. Then she took a step away. "And it would appear as though you are perfectly okay with that. You're literally okay with that. You legitimately feel comfortable with my being in your house despite what happened on the island."

"Well…" Leonard weighed that statement in his mind for a moment while he withdrew a jar of crunchy peanut butter and some jelly from its shelf under the counter. "What are you expecting of me, honestly? I'm used to picking up various travelers for my party, and you have a skillset that I greatly desire. A consolidation of our respective forces seems like it would be much to the advantage of both of us."

Still on the run following the end of Pahkitew Island and her subsequent disownment by her family (That's a word, isn't it?), Scarlett swallows her pride and swings by Leonard's place to bunk for a night or two.

Yeah, she probably should have braced herself to be greeted by the overenthusiastic delusional wizard child and his equally hyperactive family.

    Summary

"I have the mosquito gun that I constructed from the bug zapper yesterday, along with the evil watering can with its growth formula and a blaster ray I've pieced together using scraps I found under the fridge."

"Excellent," I said, with approximately zero milligrams of confidence in its ability to work. "We strike tonight, just before dinner. That way, the others won't gobble up our food supply; we should have enough to last us all the way back to the mainland. Once Ella's gone, her 'friends' might not do our grocery shopping for us."

Max stuck his lower lip out in a pout. "And I requested peppermint to be delivered tomorrow."

"Max, when we get back to the mainland, I'll buy you a garbage bin's worth of peppermint."

After a day and a half pinned on a houseboat with the other eliminated Pahkitew Island competitors, Scarlett is nearing the end of her figurative rope. If she doesn't get something evil done soon, she may just have to chop off her own hair. Well... not really. Let's not be so drastic now. She could settle for flinging a few particular chatterboxes overboard.

"Really now, Scarlett, there is no need for temper tantrums. I already told you, I've forgiven you for that pathetic attempt at usurping me as your overlord and master. I've taken you back as my sidekick and even returned all your snackbar discount privileges as secretary and vice president of my evil lair. Honestly, what better treatment are you hoping to receive?"

"You just can't take a hint, can you?" I jabbed Max in the nose with the broken end of my comb. "I was never your sidekick. And as long as you live - which, I might add, won't be much longer if you continue to bring it up - I will never be your sidekick. In fact, if anyone is anyone's sidekick around here, it's YOU!"

Max and Scarlett have some loose ends to tie up as they embark on a search for the other eliminated contestants following their double elimination. Well, perhaps Max has tight ends to loosen... and Scarlett a repertoire of fiery words to spit at him as he does.

    Summary

Was it really my Mike? It sounded like Mike's voice, albeit a little high and groggy with sleep. It looked like Mike's bright eyes, although they were still accented with a shade of bags.

Mike kissed my forehead and set me on the floor so he could gather up his food. He went for the turkey first, cut a few slices, and handed me the plate without looking my way. Okay… that was a titch odd. I'd only ever told Vito that turkey was my favorite…

All-Stars has ended. Chris has disappeared in search of a new, non-flooded island for next season. All the alternate personalities who used to live in Mike's head are gone. After three days locked in his room at the dingy hotel on the shore - Casa Dos Losers - he finally emerges feeling like a changed man.

It's about time he and Zoey had a little talk.

    Summary

He didn't want to say it. He really, really incredibly very much so didn't want to say it, but finally Envy took it upon himself to snap the silence.

"We're stuck. We separate, then it would seem that... sickness comes and gets us. We must keep together always; we'll never last on our own."

A grin split across Seeker's face, showing that gap between his front teeth that all of them shared. "Looks like the ruddy lot of us is gonna be the best a' pals forever 'en, eh?"

"Yeah." Envy put bitterness into the word and spat on the ground just in front of his feet. "Regular BFFs. I can hardly retain my ecstasy."

In an alternate universe following the All-Stars finale, Mike's ex-alternate personalities wake up in their own individual bodies in the middle of a city park with no idea where, who, or what they are- only that they are connected as though by some invisible force like the gap they all share between their front teeth.

    Summary

Leaning over the brown sink counter, chewing on his lower lip was, to no one's surprise, Mike. He still had his shirt off, and Vito's necklace on. When I glanced in the sink, I realized his hands were sudsy and he'd scrubbed them red and raw.

Inwardly, I slapped myself in the forehead. Multiple times. "Sorry to wake you, love. Looks like V and I both forgot ya were OCD 'bout the cleanliness thing."

"It's fine. I feel a lot better now." He glanced at me, then at his bare chest, and started to scratch his arm. "Um, c-can I get my shirt back?"

    "Mike, it's Vito's weekend."

His shoulders slumped. "I know. I'm trying to stay in my room, I really am. It's just…" He opened and closed his fists. "I don't like… not having… control."

Anne Maria comes up to Mike's for a visit with Vito. Mike and Zoey are okay with this, really! They even invited her! ... Well, Zoey's okay, obviously (being less than perfect is beneath her). It's Mike who's still dragging his feet about this idea, and not just because of unfinished chemistry homework. See, he has a sharing problem...

"Bloody murdered corpses," Staci said without batting an eyelash. Dawn stiffened, and she went on. "Sam and Svet say someone got snuffed in the kitchen, and they want me to find out whodunit, ya." Staci mimed twirling a cape back with one hand as she bowed. "Ya, this is about to be my finest hour. Staci's time has come. Ya, you're welcome to tag along, because like you always say, I love an audience, ya." She paused, then put a jabbing finger in Dawn's direction and straightened again. "But no spoilers."

    Summary

    "Zombies! OMG! OMG!"

Then Sierra took off running down the hill, snatching up an iron bar and lifting it over her head without pausing. She screeched out some war cry that Tyler couldn't quite make out and swung the bar sideways, knocking the large scrap piece away. Instantly the zombie covered its head and screamed at her just as unintelligibly as she was screaming at it, and then as Sierra stood poised to give a blow to the head, everything seemed to freeze.

"Oh," she said. She put down the bar and raised a hand to her mouth, turning to call back to Tyler, "False alarm, ha ha! Turns out it's just Zeke!"

After their yacht runs aground and blows up in "Bigger, Badder, Brutal-er," Tyler and the other first-generations contestants end up stranded in the mutant-infested southeastern area of Wawanakwa and they kinda just... wander 'round for a bit, lookin' for each other and working towards survival. You know how it goes.

    Summary

I went through security (with the Malevolent One severely disappointed that the scanning machine didn't consider him to be dangerous and start blaring). But I took my time replacing my shoes and digging through our things. Someone had packed me an avocado, so I ate it because I wasn't sure if I'd be coming back before it went rotten.

When I'd convinced myself that Sydney had gone for good, I grabbed our pack, drew myself up to full height, circled all the way back around, and marched straight for the front counter. When I reached the front of the line, I grinned like a dingo and flicked my boarding pass across the desk. "I'd like ta be exchangin' this here beauty for a flight straight through to Australia."

    "… Huh?"

Mike Dunn can't wait to get on the plane and fly into Muskoka. Just one airport, one flight, and a few more hours stand between him and a summer at Wawanakwa. Maybe when he meets people who don't know about his multiple personalities, he can finally make some friends!

Unfortunately, not all of his alters are as enthusiastic about this trip as he is…

“Mother? Mother, stop. Stop all that silly crying. You’re safe now. You’re safe. It’s all right now - I took care of him. He won’t hurt you.”

He hated him. This man was worse than the color red, worse than the green light that he could never catch, and he hated him with every bit of his being.

The man was touching his mother, and he hated that. No one should ever, ever touch his mother. He was the only one who should touch her, when she was giving him a gentle hug or kissing his forehead or tracing her finger across one of the scars just below his hip that his dad had given him when he was four.

    Summary

I was an ordinary child. I had a stuffed giraffe named Michael. He was my best friend, but only in secret. Joshua Next Door and I always teased Lilac Overton about Binkie, her ragged rabbit. Josh would never have forgiven me if he knew about the secret friendship with my giraffe. But Michael didn't mind. He was a good listener. I told him my secrets, and put him in charge of guarding my rock collection. We got into lots of trouble together. He was missing an ear and always bleeding stuffing from one leg, but he never complained. That's just what a good friend he was.

I wasn't an ordinary child. I thought that bugs were icky and gross, and I almost threw up when Dad showed me a big hairy black spider he'd crushed with his shoe. I wouldn't pour salt on slugs if you paid me. One time when I was out in the trees with Joshua Next Door, we saw a really long centipede as wide as the space between my teeth. I freaked out and took off for home. Josh called me a girl and a scaredy-cat and a few other names, but he was running right beside me when the thing turned out to be a biter.

Once upon a time, a little boy had this... quirk?

    Summary

Ezekiel had rescued Joshua while she'd been distracted, saying something like, "Hey, leave him alone 'fore I have to eat ya or somethin', eh?" He'd meant it as a joke, of course, but Marina seemed to take it seriously. She ran for Sierra shouting, "Mom, Mom, he's gonna turn into a monster again, he's gonna turn into a monster again!"

Sierra laughed and scooped her daughter up, but she glared at Ezekiel over Marina's head. Ezekiel narrowed his eyes back and gave a little "Tch." Joshua made his escape while he had the chance.

    "Hey, Uncle Zeke!"

He regarded her uncomfortably, tugging at his toque- today's color was white. "I, uh… I don't…" Suddenly he clapped his hand to his forehead. "Oh, hang on! Don't tell me- You're Eva and Noah's kid?"

Down the road, the original Total Drama cast has grown older, discovered themselves, and hold a reunion at Cody's amusement park.

Now, here's a story that never saw the light of FFN! I think I'd regret not preserving it, so into the archive it goes... (Written September 2013)

    Summary

"You would have liked the Amazon." I shook my head and crunched through another chip. "But the thought that you would rather be up there in that deathtrap instead of down here at a four-star resort just baffles me."

Eva lay her hand over my knee and squeezed (Whoa, hello!) "Well, yeah. Normally that would be pretty stupid, but it'd be worth it if I got to be with you."

The chips dried in my mouth. People don't squeeze knees on accident. Please no. Please no, please no, please no.

She'd… she'd developed a little crush on me.

I couldn't believe it. My hulking Iron Maiden, of all people, had succumbed to nature. Not that I could blame her - Noah Colby was quite a catch to be made…

After his elimination in London, Noah returns to Casa Dos Losers to reunite with his fellow ex-contestants. But though he's left the competition behind, from the looks of things there's still plenty of drama waiting around... So much for a happy welcome home.
