Summary
The Valuka Shuna are expertly adapted to life in the deserts of Sumeru, but Tighnari was born with a rare condition that resulted in his hair being dark, instead of the sandy color of other Valuka Shuna. Due to this, he has an incredibly low tolerance to heat, and faints often.
After a hunting trip with his family in the desert goes wrong, he collapses, and his parents fear for his life. In an effort to save their son, Tighnari's parents plead with King Deshret to allow his healers to help him. Finding Tighnari to be exceptionally fair and recognizing that his life in the desert will be difficult on his own, the king agrees...on one condition.Tighnari is to be surrendered to King Deshret's palace and is to take up the role as his son's, Prince Cyno's, concubine.
How will Tighnari adjust to this new role? Why is the prince so kind to him?
And what are these feelings Tighnari is suddenly experiencing?

Tighnari sighed, a gentle thing. “Look. My bow is over in that corner,” he gestured to the far right corner of the tent, where his bow indeed laid atop his day clothes. It was lucky enough to have that sort of cushion, as Cyno’s day clothes consisted of his helmet and a sprawl of assorted bands and elastane. “If you really insist, your polearm can ‘sleep’ next to it. Maybe that’ll make it a little less cold.”
“Really?” Cyno looked at the other man like he’d returned home with news of a promotion, or that he’d won a limited edition TCG card.
Tighnari’s gaze softened, and he massaged at one of his temples as he tilted his head to the side. “Yes,” he said, a laugh heavy in his voice.
Cyno scrambled up from where he sat—careful to step over Tighnari, fluffy tail and all (that took a wild amount of surface area)—and placed his staff ever-so carefully beside the Hunter’s Path.
“Here, the valiant warriors shall lie to rest, in preparation for their nigh skirmish.” Cyno declared, brushing off his hands and admiring his dutiful work.
ALTERNATIVELY
Three initimate nights with Cyno and Tighnari (SQ2) that were certainly not for the traveler to experience!

Summary
Tighnari immediately offered his aid to the traveler and Dehya in the plot to rescue Lesser Lord Kusanali the moment he heard Cyno was involved. Cyno rushed to Tighnari’s side as quickly as possible when he heard about the lightning strike, insisting he help him recover.
Even without his memories of the Temple of Silence, Cyno gravitated to Tighnari.
Even without full knowledge of the ancient race, the Valuka Shuna followed his heart each time it tugged him to the General Mahamatra.
Or, Tighnari reflects on his relationship with Cyno after the events of Cyno’s Story Quest Act 2. Cyno acts on that reflection.

My AU is loosely based on the 2018 show, w/ a lot of creative headcanon, OC world building, some things yoinked/adapted from other iterations of the series, canon redaction/alteration, & canon deviation.
I bounce back and forth on the timeline with some of the short stories, so be sure and check the notes to see the ages of the bois. For the main plot the series starts roughly six months after the defeat of Shredder & goes on from there.
Be warned I am an angst writer w/ PTSD who likes to put my peeps through the hell and back. So be sure and check the CWs in each summary in case there is something that you would find triggering.

Summary
MK had always wanted to meet his Dad.
Sure, the stories don’t write MK’s mother, the Six Eared Macaque, in the best lighting, but that’s got to be a misunderstanding, right? After all, MK wouldn’t exist if his parents really were such bad enemies!
And, if nothing else, surely the Monkey King would help MK and his Mom avoid the Lady Bone Demon. She was a scary lady who kept threatening them to "pay their debt” (whatever that was), and MK rather risk meeting his father than let LBD trap them without a fight.
It'd work out, right?
