Summary
Kaeya didn’t like to talk about his past.
It wasn’t a secret, nor did it come as a surprise considering everything he’d endured, and it wasn’t something Albedo felt particularly bothered by. All humans had a past, and he’d quickly learned not everyone liked to talk about theirs as openly as others.
Despite this, Albedo couldn’t stop himself from listening intently whenever the other did feel like sharing something, no matter how small.
They’d been walking through the Knights of Favonius Headquarters like any other day, passing some of the paintings on display in the entrance hall, when Kaeya had muttered something about a family portrait.
Albedo had given him a curious look, but all Kaeya had said about the matter was that it had been lost to flames, and that had been that. It hadn’t been hard to put two and two together, but no more words were exchanged about it. Kaeya was awfully good at changing the subject whenever it was convenient to him.
Still, it got Albedo thinking.

He was so exhausted. He was so lonely.

Nobody loved him much either, not as much as they loved anyone else. He knew it. He was either painfully neutral or a… nuisance.

Kaveh struck gold when he secured his latest commission - a young, wealthy aristocrat from Fontaine with a big dream to bring a piece of her homeland's culture to Sumeru. The structure will be massive and intricate, and she's promised Kaveh a handsome sum of mora if he can make her dream a reality. Who was Kaveh to refuse such a promising offer?
Should he succeed, he could repay his debt and be able to move out of Alhaitham's house in no time!
But throughout the week he was preparing the first blueprint draft, Alhaitham brought him plates of food, chiding Kaveh about his horrible sleep schedule and lack of eating each time he entered Kaveh's room. It was annoying, but...wouldn't he miss it? Wouldn't he miss Alhaitham?

Summary
When the elevator started moving, Dazai’s entire body tensed.
Realizing words weren’t going to make the other's stupid brain slow down, Chuuya did the one thing he knew for a fact would send it into overdrive for a whole different reason. Something so utterly ridiculous even Dazai wouldn’t know how to respond to it, and hopefully forget about where he was in the meantime.
Chuuya kissed him.
Because in his alcohol-induced daze, that seemed like a brilliant idea.
And really, if the goal of a brilliant idea was to reap results, then Chuuya considered himself a genius from now on, because his idea fucking worked. Dazai kissed back, cradling his cheek to pull him in closer, a different kind of tension replacing the previous one.
Whoever said Dazai was the only one capable of making plans between them?

Or: Chuuya's way of helping Dazai overcome his elevator trauma - even if watching him suffer by taking the stairs is peak entertaiment - is by making out with him any time they're in one.
Dazai isn't complaining.

Summary
Osamu Dazai had always known one thing, and that was that he was not human. Of course by all logic and technicality he was fully mortal, he bled and bruised, made of bones and skin and flesh. And yet Osamu Dazai was still somehow not human. He could feel it, the knowledge ingrained into him since he could remember. The feeling of something missing. His very humanity was simply… gone, never even there in the first place. He could never entirely explain the feeling, even if he tried it would simply sound like the ramblings of a crazed man, broken by years of pain. But Dazai knew it to be true. Something was simply not there, something integral to being human. It left a hole, a hollow space inside of him that he struggled to fill.

“Dazai…” Chuuya breaks the silence, his voice echoing through the hall. He stands achingly still.
“Come on, Chuuya. Dance with me.”
“What?”
Dazai leans in closer, his half-lidded eyes saying everything and nothing. He whispers close to Chuuya’s ear, “is it absurd for a man to want to dance with his lover?”
Chuuya’s breath stops. The word “lover” pounds through his head like a war gong.
Chuuya has hit, cursed at, held, and fucked Dazai, sometimes all in the same day. He can never define him, but he knows that they are anything but lovers.
AKA an empty dance hall in the Port Mafia headquarters, and a conversation that raises endless possibilities.
