Ra’s al Ghul was a dangerous man, who had absolute power behind the scenes. Ra’s who had all the resources in the world through dubious means. Ra’s who was already directly connected to the Wayne family. Ra’s who had almost killed Tim numerous times. Ra’s who had once demanded that he bear his perfect heir. Ra’s who was never shy about his attraction and admiration towards Tim.
Tim’s not naive. Young? Absolutely. But naive? Maybe if his parents were a little less neglectful, and the Bats were a little more affectionate. See, if things were any different, he wouldn’t have survived this far.
Tim was long jaded. Live in Gotham city long enough, it sucked the naivety right out of you like an animal trying to kill its ill young – if you survived, it made you stronger. Besides, Tim considered himself too pragmatic to be blinded by optimism.

Tim laughed too. Along with his adopted siblings next to him. His lips parted in a wide smile and his eyes scrunched up as a soft chuckle left his throat.

The line went dead silent.
Tim clenched his fists as the pale figure uncovered his face. “I’m sorry.”
The line split off into a cacophony of sounds. But Tim couldn’t hear any of it, because the stone and crumbles of cement and wood slipped off the purple suit and the pale man sat up, a hand going to his sickeningly green hair.
He was trapped. Trapped within a building’s remains with a conscious Joker, dipped head-to-toe in cuddle pollen which was already starting to become close to unbearable without human touch.
OR
A cuddle-pollened Tim gets stuck in a collapsed building with the Joker.

Summary
Janet Drake was a storyteller.
She loved narrating different tales to Tim. Every night without fail, before little Tim went to bed, she would tell him a story. Tim loved hearing all of them, they took him to places he could never imagine. He loved every single story that spilled from his mom's lips.
Except for The Adventures of The Naughty Boy Who Had No Name.
Whenever Tim misbehaved, Janet would make him sit down on his knees, then she would sit in front of him, sometimes on a chair, sometimes on the floor, and she would tell him stories of a boy who was a bad child.
A boy who never listened to his parents. A boy who was arrogant and selfish. And in every story, the boy always ended up dead.
Tim was smart. He knew when the stories were about him.
Janet always loved visuals. She described in detailed length the many different ways the boy died. Gruesome, painful, disgusting ways.
Janet was an excellent storyteller. And Tim was afraid of those stories coming to life.

He felt his body lift and crash against his seatbelt, door, and the roof of his car. An incessant ringing replaced the flow of Mr. Brightside, and his vision was replaced by darkness. The start up systems check cataloged a great deal of damage, which Tim idly recorded for later examination when he actually had the capacity to do something about it.
That was, until he started noticing some strange terms. Things like “stasis disengaged,” “life support at 24% capacity,” and “sustained significant damage to remaining organic components.”
It took until the automatic processes neared the completion of their assessment, declaring an “unacceptable resource drain,” and concluding that it would “isolate and purge all unnecessary organics,” that Tim realized just what he was looking at. This wasn’t some empty droid that he could assimilate into his network. This was a cyborg, one who’d apparently been buried and forgotten and had to shut themself almost entirely down in order to preserve power and save their own life.
“No,” croaked a weak voice, and Tim snapped to attention. This was a person, and their own programming had just decided that all of the pieces that made them them were unnecessary. They were about to die, right in front of him, and it would be all Tim’s fault.
