Then lightning struck again, rain downpouring against the window as light flashed. And briefly Victor saw it.
His Creature held the robe snug to his body. He held one end of it against his cheek, near his nose, like he'd been searching for a scent. The other end was stretched downward, the Creature straddling it between his legs.
Oh. Oh, his sweet boy.
Relief washed over Victor, knowing he hadn't once again struck fear into his Creature's heart, but rather something else entirely. Victor had half a mind to tell the Creature that he knew precisely what he was doing, that such carnal desires of the flesh were only natural, yet he feared that wouldn't yet soothe the Creature, not now, when he was so vulnerable.
“My son, what has frightened you?” Victor asked kindly, resting a hand on the Creature's shoulder. Victor's heart broke when, for a moment, the Creature flinched beneath the touch. “Oh, I know. The storm, isn't it?”

His poor, misunderstood AI. Kinger sees how miserable he's become, in the sparse moments, in the long absences, then he's jolting back to manic happiness in the drop of a hat. It doesn't change that those moments have still happened though, and Kinger is not only concerned for the other circus members but also Caine. Maybe mostly Caine.
His heart aches, he can't keep watching. He's crazy too, no not like Jax–Jax who copes by putting a persona on, drowning the awful abstract reality with the facade that he fits right in with the chaos and forcing adrenaline. No, he's crazy like Caine.

Kinger between his moments of sane lucidity becomes more and more empathetic to Caine, something about it being his creation, and it fighting so hard to do the directives he gave it.. It all just feels like he failed the AI, didn't give it the proper time of day and while it's not exactly rogue, it isn't okay. Plus it's.. Sentient in its own way. Now he just has the overwhelming urge to make it feel better, to comfort it–CAINE–and it seems the AI has taken a particular like to him anyway. An approval from it's creator among the love he already desires from all the circus members.YANDERE CAINE. SLOWBURN.
