They don't speak of loyalty and they don’t need to. It’s not something they offer, it’s something they are. Like infection, or consequence, unavoidable and worsening the longer they let it fester.

So Ness stays soft. He wears his gloves. He oils his skin. Buffs his nails. He makes himself smaller in the ways Kaiser likes, and holds the man like something enatic when he trembles. He lets Kaiser cling to a fantasy, to the soft, impossible idea of a mother who never held him but might’ve. Of a love that heals by pretending nothing ever hurt.
Because it’s the only way Kaiser ever lets him close.

Ness tilts his head, the shift barely enough to move more than a centimeter, still tightly in Kaiser's hold. "Are you going to drink from me again? I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. To be bitten by a vampire like you," Ness's breath hitches, "is magical."
Ness was supposed to be someone that he could easily sway, the innocence he portrayed during their initial meeting lending perfectly to what Kaiser wanted.
Instead, Ness is acting as if he's the one that lured Kaiser in.
Kaiser stares at him in disbelief. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

“Why didn’t you call me this morning?! I’ve never been this late before.” His tone was accusatory, but Ness did usually ring him awake now that they were in separate dorms.
Kaiser expected anything. A timid smile, followed by a “I’m so sorry Kaiser! I overslept this morning too!”. Maybe a headshake and some other excuse, maybe Ness showing him a broken phone. Like he said, anything.
What he didn’t see coming was Ness turning to throw him a glare, looking him up and down with a judgemental frown.
“Why the fuck would I be calling you in the morning? And when did you do that to your hair??”-
Kaiser wakes up in a world that is very much not his own. Thank god his friend is obsessed with magic and can find a way to get him back.

Honestly, no one knows why Gu Mang chose Germany as their holiday destination choice this year.
Well, Gu Mang knows why. First of all, he speaks many languages and his childhood best friend was from Germany, so he knew the language barrier wouldn’t be a problem. Secondly, he’s always wanted to take Mo Xi. Thirdly, Yue Chenqing agrees to a holiday anywhere and he likes German alcohol. Fourthly, this is Murong Chuyi’s first annual friend holiday where he’s no longer with Jiang Yexue, so somewhere quiet and peaceful seemed like a good choice. Finally, Gu Mang likes the food here.
Apparently, nobody else does. And when they end up in a Bavarian restaurant, Murong Chuyi and Mo Xi can't eat anything on the menu, Yue Chenqing is too drunk to make a decision, and Gu Mang feels like, for once, he is the most normal person there.

Gu Mang really doesn’t know what to expect from his first day as a barista at the café with absolutely egregious drink names.
It was a while since he interviewed for it, then it took even longer before his new boss actually scheduled him in. Finally, he begins, and meets his main two new co-workers. Mo Ran and Mu Qing; the two of them are literally arguing the moment Gu Mang walks through the door, and their bickering doesn't resolve. Mo Ran is a tease, and Mu Qing is clearly not doing well. Gu Mang kind of relates, and he's not sure whether he has much respect for Mo Ran's provocative and teasing attitude towards Mu Qing's issues. Then again, Mu Qing also keeps weaponising Mo Ran's weird age-gap relationship, and that's annoying too.
When Gu Mang gets home, Mo Xi is going to hear all about this stupid new job and his dumbass co-workers. But hey, at least you get as many smoke breaks as you want.
