Summary
The war is finally over, society in shambles, and you’re nothing but a street rat from the lower levels. In all honesty, you had never expected anyone from the newly established Imperial Palace to get back to you about your application, truly.
However, somehow, you do end up working there, against all odds. The Jedi are long gone, they can’t condemn you anymore for accepting blood money or sleeping where their dead children once lied.
You do your work and you stay quiet, don’t dare to raise your voice about what happens within the palace walls. Nor about the whispers that attendants share with each other whenever another of Vader’s servants dies in an accident; their throats crushed beyond recognition. To the world, he is a war hero, the savior of the new Empire. To all of you?
The greatest nightmare there could be.
And then, after yet another death, you’re assigned to serve him. Only that you cannot flee, bound to a contract, left with pitying looks by your fellows.
Yet, you live, and Vader seeks to keep you around by all means, treats you like a cracked pot of porcelain. Almost… as if he’s trying to replicate something long gone.

Summary
The horse halts before Rhaenyra in the King's box, and Aemond takes a bow, offers her the lance and the crown of flowers with it.
For this moment, Aemond's entire existence is consumed by the sweltering heat of King's Landing: He is nothing but the strands of hair clinging to his brow, the sun burning against his nape.
His sister's eyes upon his face.
Some nights, he dreams of being a boy, Aegon taking him by the hand, tugging Aemond after him as the figure of Rhaenyra grows taller and taller from in between the trees, her black dress as imposing as a live dragon about to open its maw to swallow Aemond whole.
Now, Aemond's eye follows dutifully as his sister rightens the flowers on her head with gentle movements: a regal tilt of her chin, the white veil of hair falling behind her shoulders; his burning stare lingering on Rhaenyra's pale throat. He wants to brush it all away, to cradle her small neck between his fingers.
For her to hold him as she does his nephews.

He‘s a drop out, still lives at home, spends most of his time holed up inside his room, drunk. Aegon is lonely.
While Aegon doesn't have the eye for art like Aemond does, isn't off in a fancy university studying it like his brother, he does, however, have a steady hand and determination.
He spends hours drawing Rhaenyra.
Always Rhaenyra.Rhaenyra holding his corpse against her chest, maggots crawling in his eyes, his blood on her hands; he's her babe and she his mother, his lover, his everything.
Aegon wants to see the kind of face she'd make if she caught him looking at her like that. Aegon wants to make her cry for him.

Summary
In one world, Anakin Skywalker falls to his knees and betrays the Jedi, leaving a shattered galaxy in his wake.
But in this world, one where Anakin is still young and not dying yet, he does the what only he can. What neither his wife or the Jedi could support. Anakin commits treason, thrusts his saber into Palpatine’s back, drops to his knees and squeezes the life of of him until he hears bones splinter. He kills the man considered his one true friend, kills him because he has to.
Anakin Skywalker is executed before his children are born. That is the world Luke and Leia grow up in. A world where they, as they always would be, are split up. The brother to the Jedi, and the girl a servant of the public. Not children but sacrificial lambs. And so brother and sister grow estranged, childhood memories fading away, until Leia only knows resentment for a brother who'd only sees the kind site of their family; never the sadness of a mother Leia could only ever disappoint.
There is only one person that Leia knows to have truly loved her: The father who had died for her, the child he'd thought to be a girl. It is with Luke's return to her that Leia learns to hate.

Ten years after Tatooine’s successful revolution and consequent joining of the Republic, newly elected Senator Owen Lars takes it upon himself to drag his soon to be stepbrother to Tatooine for their parents wedding. Under the cover of a “bodyguard mission” of course.
It doesn’t matter if every person, including the Jedi Council, directly warns him not to choose Skywalker - he can’t be that hard to deal with, right?
Though in retrospect maybe Owen should have told Anakin the true reason first. Because if there’s one thing the young Padawan hates, then it’s bodyguard missions, followed closely by Tatooine itself.
It’s a recipe for disaster.
