No excuse presents itself and she stands there, dumb and silent, but he seems to take this lack of coherent response as agreement. “Perfect. See you tomorrow, short stack.” He turns before Louise can splutter further, disappearing into the shop: Smell the Roses, floral boutique.
Her mouth falls open. “What the hell just happened?”
