Joe’s about to text the other two people who have keys to his studio to ask if they set up an incredibly ornate prank when a man walks out of the back room, munching on a packet of the trail mix Joe keeps in his snack stash.
The man’s face brightens when he sees Joe. “Oh, good, you’re here!” he calls out in a sweetly melodic voice, smiling as he takes another bite of trail mix.
Joe’s first, wild thought is he wishes he hadn’t dropped his coffee earlier so he could drop it now. Because this man looks…he looks…
Well. He looks *exactly* like the statue Joe finished carving yesterday: he has the same nose, the same mole, the same hair, the same face. EVERYTHING about him is the same, right down to the — oh, yeah, no, this guy isn’t wearing any pants. And Joe definitely didn’t carve *that!*
“Listen,” Joe says, sounding slightly hysterical to his own ears but he thinks he can be forgiven for that, considering. “Uh, I have no idea who you are and how you got in here, but would you like some pants?”
