Summary
“I don’t understand.” Shaking his head, Castiel tries to make sense out of Sam’s words, “You defeated Chuck. You got your freedom back. That was what Dean was fighting for the whole time, why would he just throw that away, Sam? What happened?”
“What happened?!” For the first time, Sam turns his eyes away from the road and his voice rises, suddenly laced with fury, “Man, you fucking died! What else do you think would mess him up so badly?!”
---
Coming back from the Empty after a whole year, Castiel discovers that the Bunker is not the home of the Winchesters anymore. Quickly the hunters who are residing connect him to Sam and Sam doesn't hesitate to bring Castiel to Dean, telling him some very unexpected things during their way. Summary
“This okay?” Simon muttered, the vibrations from his words rippling across Grace’s stomach.
“Yes… yes I just…” Grace struggled to catch his breath. “This was not how I was expecting tonight to go.”
Simon paused his kisses. “How did you see this going?”
“I don’t know. We would… talk about it?”
“Do you want to talk instead?”
Grace couldn’t even remember what he wanted to say. Actually, there were no words that described what he wanted. “No. No, keep going.”
-----
Or Eridians find Simon's submarine while spreading Astrophage to the galaxy and bring him back to Erid. Grace has to change his normal routine to help this new human adjust to life. Slowly, they get to know one another, despite Simon potentially being a war criminal from a moon with an ocean full of blood. But there's just something else about Simon that Grace can't shake, and he's pretty sure Simon feels it too...- Language:

"Simon, are we like, engaged?"
Okay, he wasn't calm. He was borderline shrill. It didn't help when he watched Simon swallow painfully, face losing colour, turning pale and nervous.
"...No?"
Grace's eyebrows shot up into his hairline. "You're not sure?"

Or, that time Grace and Rocky steal Simon away from the blood ocean and the starless universe tries to take him back.

Simon didn’t expect his savior to be exactly his type.
What a welcome sight. Even if this stupidly handsome man ends up being evil, or working for the C.O.I, at least he’d die looking at something good.

Another “Cas comes back” fic. Because I believe in happy endings (even if you have to wade through pools of angst to get there).

Castiel is saved from the Empty.
Everything seems to return to a "normal" that no longer fits.
The confession is yet to be addressed. Dean is avoidant, and Sam is pretending he can't see the shift in the room - he’s just relieved his older brother isn't drinking himself to death anymore.

Summary
"I can help with other things, too. I've been told I'm good with my hands." Dean winks, watching to see how the quip lands.
There isn't really a height difference between them, but the older man is thicker, heavier with age and muscle and time. He's broader and probably stronger, if not for the injury. Dean could outrun him, if he had to, but to where? His own front door?
He reaches out a hand to touch Mr. Novak's belt, presses a finger to the silver buckle there.
"Been told I'm good with my mouth, too."
It's Summer in Sugar Run, Florida. John has disappeared to God knows where, and Dean is doing whatever he can to make ends meet and keep food on the table. He's used to doing all sorts of odd jobs–but working for the taciturn and slightly strange older man on the other side of the park presents a new set of challenges...and a new set of rewards.- Language:

Summary
Dean wakes up in bed next to a very human Castiel, and a journal in his own handwriting that tells him it’s two years in the future. The house looks a lot like Bobby’s, and Sam lives there too… He just can’t remember how they got from angels falling in the sky – to comfortable domesticity.
While there is much in the journal Dean doesn’t remember, there is much of their story he’s always known. And as he settles into the routine of his new life and relationship with Castiel, it quickly becomes something he doesn’t know how to live without.

Summary
Dean's roommate is not what anyone would call ordinary. Cas is asexual, and autistic, and he frustrates other people with his unrelentingly 'childish' ways – but it's different with Dean: they have an exceptional bond, something truly profound. Dean figures Cas wouldn't respond to the idea of a crush the way most people would, so he has no intention of telling him he's been harbouring non-platonic feelings for him for years. Then one night everything falls to pieces: Cas overhears something he wasn't meant to hear. Things were never normal between the two of them, but now they might never be comfortable again.
