The Year is 2015. Fifteen years ago, a devestating event known as the Second Impact devestated the planet, destroying Antarctica, and forcing the northern hemisphere into an eternal summer. After a series of devestating wars, the world has begun to recover, albeit with great difficulty. Officially, the incident was the result of a asteroid impact. In reality, it was the result of a contact experiment carried out on the ancient being known as Adam, the First Angel. Now, fifteen years later, Adam's offspring, the Angels, have returned to try and reclaim their role as the dominant species on Earth. Humanity's only hope? The humanoid biomechanical weapon systems known as the Evangelions. Piloted by children whose mothers souls have been imprisoned within the cores of the cybernetic monsters, they are the last hope for mankind, and the only thing standing between the Angels and their goal of causing the catacylmic Third Impact. Gendo Ikari has sent for his son, Shinji Ikari, to be the Third Child, and to pilot the Evangelion known as Unit-01. However, Shinji doesn't exist anymore. And Aiko Ikari is not the broken child that her father desired her to be.

One hundred years have passed since Unicron nearly ended human and Cybertronian life. One hundred years have passed since Rodimus and the rest of the Lost Light crew completed their journey. Starscream has been imprisoned still despite being a hero, and Rodimus finds no joy in his life anymore. When a seemingly new threat arises on New Cybertron to threaten the tentative peace, Windblade assigns them together to deal with it in potential exchange for Starscream's freedom. While this unlikely duo initially show great disdain for each other, their shared trauma and similar life experiences leads them to realize that they're not so different from each other after all. And just maybe...They come to realize how much better each of them make their respective lives.
