Summary
“It’s titled 'Aemond’s Fury.'”
Turning away from the painting, Dunk spun around. Now he stood face-to-face with Aerion Targaryen in all of his glory. Shrouded in the simple black of a widower's garb and with a solemn expression on his face, he appeared remarkably harmless, yet, Dunk barely suppressed a shudder at his sight. Purely on instinct, his hand went to the hilt of his sword.
Aerion rolled his eyes.
“My Prince –”
“My father commissioned the paintings upon my presentation. A fine work, though it hardly brings any comfort to a freshly presented man of seven-and-ten.”
Though in the moment, Aerion appeared to lack the malice Dunk remembered him by, he still felt as though someone fixed his feet to the floor. The last time he had seen him, he had Aerion by his neck in front of Lord Ashford, and the proud prince still had not dealt him appropriate revenge.

“Francesco, that’s Lorenzo.” Clarice said, blissfully unaware. “Lorenzo, that’s Francesco.”
There was Francesco’s hand before him, prepared for a professional, standardised handshake and Francesco’s gaze, focused somewhere over Lorenzo’s shoulder.
“We do – ugh – we do actually know each other.” Lorenzo decided to ignore the hand before him and awkwardly grab Francesco’s forearm instead in an improvised and overly intimate gesture.
“What a small world.” Clarice smiled. “May I ask how?”
"We used to be the best of friends and then I kissed him because I was hopelessly in love with him as a teen and we argued because his uncle (who was his guardian) was (probably still is) tragically homophobic and he almost broke my nose durig the fight and then he fucked off to UK for school." Lorenzo didn't say any of that.
“We went to the same high school.” Francesco spoke up finally, expression unreadable.

Amusement of The Absurd Kind by Lenami

Summary
Francesco was a ghost of the past – and of that Lorenzo was sure. The certainty with which he remembered Francesco as a seventeen-year old that he had known in high school, with disdain on his face and a mockery of a smile, was almost unsettling. The image itself brought back, with a strange clarity, his enigmatic words said instead of a proper goodbye: Francesco became almost synomous with them in his mind over the years.
"It's a simple impossibility, Lorenzo" Francesco said that day, faint amusement resounding slightly in his voice – Lorenzo couldn’t recognize it back then but it was amusement of the absurd kind.

Summary
Tobirama woke with the feeling of someone else’s body pressed against his. Their chakra was all around him and it felt like fire, silent explosions, burnt sugar, summer night with howling wind, cinnamonwith a little bit of ash.
"Uchiha", his mind told him, sternly, as if it was a warning.
"Kagami", the instinct answered. It was in fact Kagami – he could never mistake his chakra for anyone else’s: warm and wild, as all Uchiha’s chakras were but unusually sweet, calmer than any of his clanmate’s, pleasant to be around, not burning hot and distracting like Madara’s or Izuna’s jumpy and airy, constantly moving, flowing side to side anxiously.
No, Kagami’s chakra was a relief.

His last memories were somewhat hazy, blurred. There was Kagami’s voice, his hands on his skin, warm fingers slipping inside of his clothing. -

“What do you think this could be about?” Madara rolled his eyes and pushed away from the desk. “As you must be aware, you are not… exactly well perceived by the Uchiha part of the population – ”
Tobirama smiled unpleasantly.
“Is telling me that a purpose of your visit?”
Madara mirrored his expression almost perfectly.
“ – nor I am extremely popular with the Senju.” Madara added through gritted teeth.
“Which is obvious.”
“That’s the point.” Madara huffed with annoyance. “And that is why I have a proposal for you."
.
.
.
The tensions were rising.
Tobirama was aware of the growing numbers of conflicts between Uchiha and Senju civilians and how it affected badly the public mood, but he had to bite his tongue any time it was brought up in a conversation to stop childish “I told you so” from escaping from his mouth. -

He didn’t know how much time passed when he heard a familiar sound: quick steps, sharp and impatient, muffled by the wall dividing them.
Clink of the keys.
Clatter of dress shoes on the floor.
Madara.
“Tobirama?” The light flickered few times desperately and returned to life. “Did you buy the groceries?”

Tobirama never could pinpoint the exact moment in which his and Madara’s relationship turned romantic. Romantic – that word still sounded somewhat ridiculous in relation to them, even after seven years of marriage. They loved each other, no doubt, but it was always placed somewhere between real passion they felt for each other and the idea that they were always supposed to end up together anyway - because no one else would have them. -

Tobirama never was the one to hold back his opinions, to withhold his refusals, and silence his voice of reason, but there were two people whom he just couldn’t refuse, not when it truly mattered.
First one was Hashirama.
And the second one was Kagami Uchiha.

Summary
"What an irony it is, that Tobirama, that Senju Tobirama, The White Demon, always against us, will also wear the name Uchiha now", Madara thought grimly, sipping his sake as he watched Kagami’s fingers wrap around Tobirama’s shoulders, clad in white silk. Tobirama accepted the touch gracefully but there was a strange stillness in his movements.
There was something unsettling about the whole affair, and Madara didn’t even mean the obvious thing – which was the fact that Tobirama married his student. Uptight, quiet and reserved, responsible Tobirama. Tobirama who was obsessed with rules and duty, Tobirama who always did the right thing. It simply wasn’t something he would do.
There was something else there.

"Certain concerns were expressed by the clan elders when Nidaime Hokage married his former student, Uchiha Kagami and became Uchiha Tobirama, according to all known records. The change of his name was wildly considered a somewhat misguided decision [...]" -

“Tobirama.” Senju’s head jerked up, his attention shifting. Madara looked him right in the eye. “I am sorry.”
“It’s quite alright here, you know.” He grasped Madara’s hand, lost in thought. “You shouldn’t worry about the dead, Madara, we are not there, after all. Besides, it’s your own doing, so don’t be so fucking bitter. I would say that you should enjoy yourself but I am not exactly sure if it’s appropriate.”
He smiled, just a faint twitch of his lips, irony behind his eyes.
Madara woke up with answer on his tongue, but “fuck” was all he could bring himself to actually say out loud.

“Does this help, in reality?"
“It does empty your head.” He shrugged in a dismissive way, but it felt forced.
It looked forced.

Summary
Javier saw the face Carrillo would never show to his wife or kids. That thought would accompany him when he dressed himself after the act, wobbling on unsteady legs, eyes fixed on the flak jacket and his gun that laid discarded on the floor or desk.
“You alright?” Sometimes Carrillo would breathe into his ear, right after he finished, his hands, now impossibly gentle, searching for any injuries.
“I signed up for this, didn’t I?”
“Peña.”
“Yeah, I am fine.”Carrillo was, after all, a man of principle.

“But can it exist?”
"You can’t manipulate conversation into other direction when talking to Hal", Dave remembered with slight irony.
Lights on screens flashed, illuminating dark room with blue and red.
“I don’t know, Hal. It may exist.”
“I do not want to overstep your boundaries, but-”"You have no concept of boundaries, Hal. You think you are entitled to all of knowledge." Dave thought.
“-you seem reluctant to speak about this, Dave.”

They didn’t hang him. Francesco was actually surprised by that- and surprise was the last thing he expected to feel after murder.
"He should have killed me. Or maybe… " he thought as Lorenzo came closer and crunched down before him. "Maybe he wants to kill me with his hands." -

Summary
The brightness of light made his eyes hurt- light was everywhere, reflecting on the water, on the deck, on Marlow’s sandy blond hair- sun made them lighter, strands shining with golden-honey colour, so unfit for an Englishman who were always so grey, so pale.
In the brightness surrounding them, Marlow seemed bleached by the sun with his pale, long-fingered hands and fair head.
Kurtz’s bed was brought to the deck and he sat on it with stillness in his bones, muttering words of complaints to himself.
“Do you smoke?” Marlow asked him unexpectedly, his lips curling with something between disdain and irony.
“No.” His voice was rough, throat dry.

“There is no beautiful thing I wouldn’t find wonderful and lovely.” Henry ran hand through his hair, dishevelled after the night, but it fell right back into his eyes when he sat down in armchair by the window.
“All the tragic things?”
“It’s even lovelier then.”
Basil laughed, searching for cigarettes in pocket of his jacket that was slung from the bedstead.
“I know you so terribly well, Harry.”

Letter Written by a Dead Man by Lenami

Summary
Alan saved two of Basil’s belongings, took it to his home, not able to bring himself to abandon it at Dorian’s hellish house and let that place swallow last memory of the painter. One of them was Basil’s glove, too thin for this weather-it looked more fit for opera, but it was old and unused, crumpled, stuck into the pocket.
Inside of his jacket, he found something much more meaningful: a letter. It was unsealed; not ready to send yet- or maybe it was never meant to be read. Writing on envelope simply read “For Harry”, the name underlined twice, drawing his attention to neat, tight letters.

Summary
Basil Hallward had unfortunate tendency of falling for the most inappropriate men of all. He loved Henry Wotton for the longest time, longer even than he loved Dorian. It was different kind of love- whereas it took him only one look to fall for Dorian, Henry crept into his heart slowly. One day Basil simply realised that he loved him, looking at Harry sitting on his unmade bed in his tiny, dusty room in Oxford.

“Three more memories, Harry. I never knew if they were essential and at last, I decided against it. I might make a big mistake not showing them to you: I can’t say for sure it wasn’t my personal beliefs that influenced that-” the note read. It wasn’t finished and the paper was messy, Dumbledore scratched out few sentences, many words. On all of the bottles there was written Tom’s name, always in tiny letters, messily, like Dumbledore hoped they would disappear with time if he only managed to make them smaller.
"He had a memory that actually belonged to Tom’s father? And he thought it didn’t matter that much?" Harry wondered, trailing with his finger the words “Riddle Senior”. The other bottles had familiar names on them and he looked at them with almost as much disbelief; Minerva-1944, Hagrid- 1942.

Summary
The park was almost empty, dark clouds hanging from the sky, threatening with the storm, and there was no one in his line of sight, so Tom simply went ahead and tugged on the stranger’s sleeve.
“You are a wizard. I saw it.”
