Summary
“What do you want from me?” Will croaks. He tries to lift his head but sees stars instead. “W-why can’t you just leave me alone?”
The Monster is quiet for several long, painstaking moments. “Why do you keep fighting me?” he asks, in lieu of an answer. “I only come to take what is rightfully mine, William.”
Tears sting Will’s eyes, and he blinks them away furiously, forcing himself to sit up despite the lingering nausea. “I’m not yours,” he hisses. “I am not yours, and I never will be.”
Or:
Years after their first encounter, the Monster from Will's childhood returns and will stop at nothing to have him.

Summary
“Mike, you have to,” Will had begged over the phone between bouts of laughter. “And you have to tell me everything.” Mike had plenty of reasons to say no: he was more of a short story guy than a drama guy, he should really be working on his own shit because junior year Writer’s Workshop is no joke, and it’s Tammy Thompson. But even though it’s over the phone, Mike can picture Will’s sad puppy dog eyes and now he’s spending his break at Benny's Cafe jotting down ideas for Tammy with a Y.
---
Summer '91. Mike Wheeler ghostwrites Tammy Thompson's one-woman show, talks to Will on the phone, and learns a lot about himself. -

Summary
Summer break, two years after graduating high school. Will and Mike almost kiss, and everything changes. They find themselves on a journey together after a mysterious clue. They have no choice but to finally confront what’s been going on between them for years.
“I keep showing up,” Mike says. His voice doesn’t break, but he feels like it should. “Even when you try to throw me away.”
Will flinches, and Mike hates himself for it immediately.
“I didn’t- ” Will says, and his eyes drop. “I didn’t throw you away.”
Mike’s mouth twitches. Not a smile. Something sadder. “You threw the letters away.” -

Steve thinks it’s a great idea for the extended party to meet up at a lake house in Maryland to celebrate five years since they saved the world. What he’s not so keen on is having to drive a seemingly unsociable and reclusive Mike Wheeler across the country on a ten hour road trip.
However as they cycle through their favourite albums and some hard conversations, they realise they’re more similar than they thought.

Summary
“Hey Will?” Mike breaks the silence a moment later. He keeps drifting to the right, although their hands still keep them tethered together. Will pulls him back every time.
“Hey Mike?” Will parrots back.
“He… he’s not your… boyfriend, right?” The questions out before he can stop it, and it sounds far judgier than Mike intends.
He thinks it’s the wrong thing to say, because for a long moment, Will is quiet. Then he says, “No, Mike. Chance is… definitely not my boyfriend.”
Mike lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding. “Good.”

Summary
“You’re crying,” Will breathes, his voice quiet enough Mike would consider it a whisper.
Mike pulls back, maybe a bit too abruptly. Will’s hand stalls in the air before falling back to his side.
“It’s fine. I think I forgot to blink. I’m fine.”
What a stupid lie, honestly. He knows that Will isn’t dumb, that he’ll see right through the broken deception in a heartbeat, but his brain begs that Will would just drop it and they'd just go their respected ways and be done with this night. All of this.
Because maybe then he wouldn’t have to hurt anymore.
or
(Mike is being eaten alive by the thoughts of his childhood ending. he finds out that maybe there is more to that than meets the eye and Will helps him figure that out.) You could also kinda consider this post-canon (a big kinda)

Summary
"Will," he breathed out in Will's ear, voice low and shaky.
"Mike," Will murmured back, tongue darting out to wet his bottom lip, Mike's eyes shifting downwards to track it.
They were close, too close. Close enough for it to be dangerous, reckless even.
But Mike couldn't care less, not with the way that Will looked like he needed to be kissed, desperately so.
Kissed by Mike.
Maybe parties weren’t as bad as Mike thought they were.

Summary
It’s the end of the world but Will’s biggest problem is Mike Wheeler.
It shouldn’t bother him so much. After all, he’s the one who ripped off the bandaid. He’s the reason they’re not speaking anymore.
That message gets lost somewhere in translation.
or
Will’s never been good at conflict resolution and Mike’s never been good at flirting. Some things just never change.

Summary
Slowly, your fingers trace the grooves of his face; scars, veins, and blemishes alike. "And what do they call you, sir?" You ask into the darkness.
The man tenses under your touch, and enormous palms rise to grasp your hands, rough fingers grazing over your knuckles. "I do not have a name," he rasps, and by then, you must notice how otherworldly he sounds. "I do not need a name."
Your brows furrow as your thumbs continue to follow along the deep lines on his cheeks, down his chin. "And what, pray tell, would you have me call you? Everyone needs a name."
Perhaps, he thinks, I'd like for you to call me yours.
Or, The Creature secludes himself in an abandoned manor many years after his father's death. He expects what his elongated life has already provided him—loneliness, disappointment, longing. He does not, however, expect you.

Summary
As an anatomical archivist at the University of Ingolstadt, you’re no stranger to long nights alone with dust, bones, and the lingering memory of your dead friend Victor Frankenstein. But when you uncover a set of his long-forgotten notes, the quiet of the archives turns uneasy...and something stirs in the rafters above the records room. Something that watches. Something that listens. Something silent, patient, and impossibly attentive.
Apparently, not all of Victor’s secrets were buried with him.

Summary
Mike and Will start on a swingset in kindergarten, almost eighteen years ago, when Will is five, very shy, and sitting by himself during recess. Mike Wheeler slots himself into Will's life like he was always meant to be there — shuffles beside him, asks if he wants to be friends. He is the first friend Will ever makes, and they don't know it yet, but Mike will change his life forever.
(And, well, Will has a few secrets from Mike. One: that he's the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and two: that Will is hopelessly in love with him. The latter happened long before the former, and that's almost exactly the reason why Will hasn't said anything at all, and probably never will.)
