Summary
Despite the whole procedure of 'taking care of Viktor' reminding Jayce somewhat of coddling a crazily intelligent toddler, he enjoyed it—a bit too much, if he was being honest with himself. One of the few factors that Jayce hadn't yet taken care of was getting some fresh air. And since Viktor wasn't exactly a person for long walks, Jayce struggled how to coax him out of the lab. Only yesterday had Jayce reminded himself of a balcony attached to their lab. They never used it, and all of a sudden, it seemed a tremendous waste. But nothing that couldn't be remedied.

Piltover celebrates The Harrowing with elaborate masquerade balls, recreating a ceremonial truce between dark and light for the sake of the eclipse. The most grand ball is of course the Kirammans’. This year, Caitlyn insists that Jayce and Viktor attend.
Grudgingly, Viktor agrees to put up with the nonsense, just this once. He’ll wear the stupidly expensive costume and go through the motions until they leave him alone. Unfortunately for him, Jayce and Caitlyn are a stubborn team, determined to make the ball enjoyable.

Viktor lifts a sardonic eyebrow, the corner of his mouth twitching. “You are in luck,” he hums, careful to keep his voice even. "It would appear that I am, eh… how do you say? On the market for a job."

He was kept company by Ximena Talis, Jayce's plus one. With the amount of parties they sat through together, if Ximena had to pick favorites, she'd have to think about it. And Ximena was definitely Viktor's favorite Talis.

Viktor snorted with shock, champagne searing its way out of his nostrils as the force of it sent a spray all down his front. He grimaced, pinching the bridge of his nose to quell the burn as he turned toward the source of the statement.
Caitlyn Kiramman, looking smug as a bug as she stood just outside the patio door.
“What?” Viktor asked harshly, carefully sidestepping the question entirely.
“I said,” she began, taking two long strides toward him and pulling a napkin out of nowhere to hand to him as she approached. “You’re sleeping with him, aren’t you?”
“No, I heard you,” Viktor snapped, yanking the napkin from her delicate fingers and wiping the champagne from his face. “I was simply surprised by the audacity.”

He’s got this lovely habit of leaning right over him as Viktor speaks, caging him between his arms as he lowers himself to look at whatever Viktor’s showing him. He often lowers himself so much that when he speaks he’s right beside Viktor’s ear. He then whispers his amazement, a smile in his voice.
