She decides to fill the hole in her heart by learning history and turning those events into Hetalia fics to get a better understanding since she learns best by re-writing and simplifying topics. This collection will focus on American history since she is from America and it's good to know the history of your country, but she will eventually branch out to other countries' drama too. This fic starts with the Stamp Act of 1765, a tax that started a large portion of rebellion in Americans.

Alfred's breath hitched. "Better... to die free than live on your leash."
Arthur's mouth twisted into a half smile. "Still talking. Always talking."
He reached out, almost tenderly, and brushed a strand of soaked hair from Alfred's forehead. Alfred jerked away as if burned.
"You never learned when to stop," Arthur whispered. "Too many ideas. Too much noise. Too proud to bow, even when it would have saved you pain."
He stood, taking Alfred's musket and reversing it with practiced ease. The brass butt-plate caught the gray light.
"Maybe," he said, "in the dark and the quiet, you'll finally learn to keep your head down. And that mouth shut."
The butt came down hard against Alfred's temple.

Today was supposed to be like every other day. Except it wasn't. Today, Alfred was finally getting to lay out on his couch instead of having to complete the back breaking work that his boss continues to pile on daily. With this reprieve, he decides that watching a movie and becoming a potato for the night sounds like the best way to spend his free night. Trying to find something to watch, he is reminded that the State of the Union address is happening so he decides to tune in. Not knowing that this would be his last free day in awhile.
