After one of them took everything from him, Kai has hated devils with every fiber of his being and he's made it his life purpose to find and kill the one responsible for his family's death.
But when he gets paired up with a devil, not quite like the other ones, he feels his resolve shake a little.
Beomgyu doesn't like the idea of having to work with humans, either, but this one is set on never leaving his side and at some point, even against his better judgement, he finds himself giving in and letting him carve a space into his heart.
Neither of them seems to be able to stop the connection that has somehow started to form. Neither of them wants to.

Beomgyu's heart nearly lodged in his throat and he repeated the words three times for accuracy. Both? Them both? As in—
No, there was no way, right?... He had to be referring to something else, anything else? Like his partner would be present if they met up, which technically speaking he still didn’t know if he wanted to!
"Come again?" was the only thing Beomgyu could say.
"Package deal. As in, we both would help during your heat... should you still require an Alpha." The man explained this time, more cautiously.
After years of relying on suppressants, Beomgyu was finally diagnosed with delayed fertility and a high risk of hormonal dysregulation. The long-term side effects were starting to take their toll, and with his first unmedicated heat drawing closer, he had to face a harsh truth. Going through it without an Alpha could be unbearable. Possibly even dangerous.
Lucky for him, someone—or rather, some people—had taken an interest.

"That's it. I'm calling Yeonjun-hyung," Taehyun says grimly, surveying Beomgyu with thinly-veiled disdain, which only makes him break into a renewed fit of giggles.
"Dude— you can't! He's gonna flip his shit," Kai hisses, cautiously glancing over to make sure the drunk isn't eavesdropping. Then, lowering his voice, "and we're going to be in his main line of fire! Look at how wasted he is!" He presses urgently, as if dealing with an angry Yeonjun is in some world more of a pain in the ass than dealing with a drunk Choi Beomgyu. Taehyun rolls his eyes.
"It's too late now, we can't do much about it," he sighs, resigned to his fate, before squaring his shoulders determinedly, "it's time to bring in the big guns."

' suddenly there are arms around his waist pulling him in close. yeonjun’s mouth is way too close for comfort, but when he instinctively tries to squirm away the arms around him don’t let up. beomgyu is beyond terror at this point, it’s only a marbled mess of confusion and the urge to scream and cry juxtaposed to hysterical laughter.

Kai, Soobin and Beomgyu are all huge fans of the new promising drama, Answer 2013. The problem is, with every new episode coming out, Beomgyu grows more and more attached to a character who is very clearly turning out to be the second lead: Choi Yeonjun.
If only the kind-hearted chaebol had someone to guide him, to teach him all there is to know about the female lead to win her heart...
When Beomgyu wakes up in their world and is given the opportunity to do just that, he realizes there’s a critical point the drama fails to mention:
