It was always the same order – an iced macchiato for her, black coffee for Vox, and a sugary, strawberries and cream abomination for Valentino."
Being the backbone of the Vees wasn't an easy job, but one of them had to do it. And so, Velvette spends most of her free time at work helping out her slightly incompetent partners. It's definitely to maintain the Vees brand of perfection, not because she loves them or anything. That would be totally cringe.

It was a rare, glorious week when Rhys’s heat and Jack’s rut just so happen to coincide, and to the surprise of absolutely no one who knows them personally, the two had completely vanished, only to emerge a full week later, exhausted, sated, and reeking of each other’s scents.
But they’d returned to their normal routine soon enough, and as far as they or anyone else was concerned, nothing else of note had happened.
That is incorrect.And, in retrospect, neither Rhys nor Jack had any right to be surprised.

The first time he dared to leave the cabin on his own, Roach had greeted him enthusiastically in the galley with a steaming mug of what looked and smelled like coffee.
Izzy gazed at the cup and then back to Roach’s face. His smile didn’t reach his eyes, Izzy didn’t need his years of closely reading lying sailors to see that it was false.
He grabbed the mug and nodded his head in thanks. He even took a sip as he walked from the room, but spat it out as soon as he got to the ship’s railing. He poured the rest of the liquid out after it. Glaring as the murky brown seemed to dissolve into the blue waves.
They’d have to wake up earlier in the day if they wanted to poison him.
Or: The crew’s been bullying Izzy relentlessly for the last week and a half. So why are they suddenly being so nice to him?

Once, Louis could scarcely keep his hands off a Lestat dressed in proper 20th century attire for a night on the town, and he remembers that many a plan had been postponed or outright forgotten for more carnal, intimate endeavors.
“So if my considerable considerables continue to be squandered…”
Lestat pauses a moment, expectant, but after a beat, Louis turns his remorseless gaze back to his research. Lestat feels the scowl tighten his face before he’s fully aware of it himself, takes up his jacket again, and crosses their loveless bedroom to meet his loveless lover down below.
“Wait.”

His eyes flicker down to Stede’s chest again.
