Hermione’s lips twitched as she looked over her shoulder, at the figure in the doorway. “Quite.”
Her silver-haired husband crossed the distance between them in a few, quick steps and wrapped his arms around her shoulders. “I’d call you Malfoy,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her cheek. “But it doesn’t have the same ring as Granger, does it?”
She didn't say that she adored the sound of her name on his lips, or that her heart fluttered when he covered her body with his own as if he would - as if he could - own all of her.

“My, my,” he chuckled as she turned toward him. “You favor loyalty then, my little bird? Perhaps you won’t despise me after all.” She narrowed her eyes, and he wanted nothing more than to kiss her heightened cheeks; and draw his lips against her furrowed brow, smoothing the skin there.
He wanted to ravage his wife.
His fingers curled about her neck; his thumb drawing circles across her skin. He wanted the world to see bruises marring her skin, and know it was from him. He kissed her cheek and felt the thrum of her heartbeat - like that of a hummingbird - beneath his thumb. “I would own you,” he murmured, “if you were mine.”
Her eyes met his; burning and unafraid.
“I belong to no one,” she said, her words dragging themselves like knives across her bottom lip. It darkened to a crimson shade, and he caught it between his teeth; suckling on her sweetness. “My soul is my own, husband.”
If only it was.

She'd quieted at the words, before burying her face against his neck and shaking with unshed tears. Later, he brought her back to their quarters; and fed toast by hand, before writing their names together in stark, bold lines with his calligraphy pen while she sat on his desk and watched in fascination.
“Show me again,” She asked. “Please, Kylo.”
He did, again and again, before her eyes drooped and he knew she wasn’t watching anymore. “Only for you,” He said as he set aside the paper to dry and gathered her to him. Honeycrisps and the smell of crackling leaves clung to her; despite the sterile air of space. “All for you, Rey.”
AU | Kylo doesn't want to burn down the Resistance for his Master, or the First Order. He intends to do it for her.

Every morning, Theo would take the elevator seven floors up to her floor. He brought coffee and gossip, and after seeing her gaunt form, he brought her a buttered scone or plain donut with honey drizzled on top too. He’d watch as he teased her; making his gossip more and more outrageous, before she laughed and reluctantly picked at her treat, hiding most of it in a crumb ridden napkin.
She wouldn't let him take her to lunch or dinner or meet him at the café where he bought her coffee every day. He didn’t miss the fact that she avoided touching him; her fingers brushing against his only once, before her cheeks turned pink and she turned away abruptly.
“Things are different now,” She told him gently.
“Yes,” He agreed. “We’re both happily married, and in need of a friend.”
“Malfoy isn’t enough for you?” She said, in a haughty tone; one that she used when she was teasing. “Or Zabini or Parkinson?”

Summary
“Tea, Severus?” She asked, reaching for the floral bowl that held a towering pile of sugar cubes. She used silver prongs to drop two of them into her teacup; thrilled at her ability to do so, before absently spotting at the tea that sloshed over the side. She hadn’t been able to grasp the prongs days before, her hand too unsteady.
She hadn't been able to hide it before Severus had added another bitter phial to her medicine. "One for your control," He'd said, making no further comment on her weakness; something she appreciated. He never made her feel weak; not when he took her flailing arm, without a word, and led her to the shower, and toweled her off after; briskly, before kissing her soundly, as if she were a normal, whole woman. He could be kind, kinder than anyone knew; in his own understated way.
AU | Hermione saved Severus during the war and suffers devastating effects because of it. Now, Severus saves her in turn.
