Harry and Draco Malfoy are partnered in potions class, instructed to brew amortentia, a love potion which smells like what attracts you most. The odd events that occur afterwards leave them both questioning their feelings towards one another.

Summary
Everything Malfoy had ever done – making Ron sick up slugs for a day, calling Hermione slurs, spending years passively tormenting Harry – had always stood darkly against anything that may’ve been.
Recently, that’s.. changed.
It’s not like Harry had forgotten everything that had happened, it’s more that he wasn’t so sure what to make of it anymore. The memories still made him angry, sure, but the feeling is tinged with doubt.
Maybe he never really knew Malfoy very well at all.

Summary
Draco hated this bar. The tables were too cramped, the leather chairs were cracked beyond repair, and no one stopped the patrons from smoking, leaving a thin film on everything. It stuck to his fingers and left a bad taste in his mouth every time he breathed.
But, he loved the way the neon pink and yellow light landed across Harry Potter’s face, accentuating the length of his eyelashes and the dip in his top lip. With his eyes closed like that, a beer bottle pressed to his mouth and the creases in his brow momentarily smoothed, he was the most beautiful thing Draco had ever seen.

Summary
Draco froze in the doorway, his breath catching as his gaze fell on the figure in the kitchen. Harry Potter stood by a steaming pot, a brass ladle in hand, stirring with a rhythmic motion that suggested he’d been at it for some time. His messy black hair was a riot of curls, more disheveled than usual, and he wore an apron of all things, a rosy pink one dotted with tiny blue teacups and shiny silver spoons. The bow at his back was perfectly tied, as if mocking Draco with its domestic charm. Beneath the apron, Potter’s attire was almost laughable: worn-out shorts that left his knees bare and a faded t-shirt that clung to him.
Draco’s stomach growled again, louder this time, but he hardly noticed. Instead, he took a step back, slipping into the shadows just outside the door. Gone was the bumbling, untidy boy he had known, replaced by someone entirely different. Potter wasn’t simply cooking; he was weaving some quiet, hypnotic magic, as if the kitchen itself bent to his will.
And so, he watched.

“If we do all of them, and we’re still not mates, will you leave?” Harry said slowly.
Malfoy took a moment to skim the list with a long, pale finger. One or two of the questions made him grin in a way Harry hated.
“Deal."Harry escapes to Muggle London because he can't handle being a famous wizard. Malfoy won't stop coming by, and Hermione is wrapped up in something nasty.

Draco scoffed, unimpressed, “Potter. Do you really think I would take potions advice from you?”

If either of the two had been more perceptive, they would’ve heard Pansy choke in the background, and notice that they now had the rest of the class's attention--even Snape’s.
Draco, clearly irritated, took in a whiff of the potion as well. “Are you nose-blind Potter? How could you expect to smell anything correctly over that horrid cologne?”
“W-what?!” Harry squawked indignantly, “What cologne?”

Summary
The smell that roils out of the cauldron does little to ease his tension, though. It's green grass and sharp metal, apple-sweet and rich with sweat and loam. It rolls through him like a thundercloud, tempestuous and full of electric sparks that leave him aching.
He knows what it is, knows this scent as well as his own name, but Draco refuses to acknowledge it, even to himself.
Somehow, he's convinced himself that if he were to say it out loud, it would make it real. When it's just a scent, just a hint of reality caught and held by the air, he can pretend it isn't what it is.
Pretending is the only way he gets through his days anymore.
