Phil comes in, after what feels like a very long time. “It’s past noon,” he says, confirming Tommy’s suspicions. He sounds worried. “You doing okay?”
Tommy clasps his hands together over his stomach. He misses Wilbur and Techno. He hates himself for being the reason Wilbur had to leave. He wonders if there’s something in his DNA that could make him like his father.
“What’s goin’ on?” Phil asks, gently squeezing Tommy’s hands.

Laurent was happy with the Denali coven - but something always bothered him. The human girl the Cullens had left behind, defenseless, and smelling entirely too delectable to last long should any more vampires come sniffing around. Her blood still tempts him - of course it does - but he can't go back to that life. Won't.
And then Victoria makes contact with him. And she wants revenge.
Rather than letting Victoria kill Bella, Laurent goes to Forks, telling himself that killing her himself would be a mercy. But he can't bring himself to do it. At the same time, he can't just leave her so defenseless, and the discovery of VIctoria's newborn army is too alarming to let go unchallenged.
A short drabble in which Laurent's redemption arc succeeds, Jacob is a more supportive friend, Charlie is a smart cookie and Bella becomes a vampire early - only to discover she has her "super-self-control" and decides to keep living her normal life. Much to the shock and horror of everyone around her.

or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
