This isn’t real, he finds himself thinking yet again as the footsteps start anew. None of this is real… He can’t be- The slack, rapidly cooling form in his arms sends shivers up his spine and turns his own body cold and numb.

This collection contains the short stories that belong to my Triple Threat Series. (For connected novel length stories, look here: https://archiveofourown.org/series/1359424)
The Triple Threat Series is sort of a friendship epic about Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. The friendship between the main characters is the large overarching theme here. The novel length entries are more adventure and action driven and play with concepts like Chaos Control stuff, while most of the shorties make lighter, quick reads.
In spite of the name, it’s not strictly a series in the sense of starting with story one and the rest being sequels. It’s a lot looser than that, especially for the earlier installments. All TTS stories have in common that they’re set in the same universe and resolve around the trio of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles. TTS’ timeline fits loosely after Sonic Adventure 1/2/Sonic Heroes, think a year or so after them, but you're usually free to assume most of the events of games that came out before the story was published happened.

He couldn't breathe. His breathing sped up, but Tails didn't seem to notice, eyes wide with terror, arms shaking, and out of habit, tails poofed together as one. Sonic looked at him with confusion and worry. "Tails..?"
Freak. They kept calling him freak. The same way they had done-
"I am not Miles Prower." Tails whispered to himself, trying to stay in control of his body and mind. "I am not Miles Prower." Sonic looked even more confused now. "Buddy..?" He took a step in front of him.
"I am not Miles Prower I am not Miles Prower I am not Miles Prower IamnotMilesPrower-"
Lightning struck.
Sonic was the first he saw, reaching out his hand- Tails couldn't help his next reaction and freaked out.
"DON'T HURT ME!"
